You did a very nice job!

* I have to add this: you have the same countertop as I do in my home! :D *

I did a 7 course meal last week for some of my wife's colleagues. Unfortunately I'm missing two photos - chilled avocado soup which I served with the crab and lemon shortbread with fresh whipped cream and berries.

Your wife is a very lucky woman.

Most of my culinary skills involve dropping a Ramen "noodle-brick" into a pot of boiling water & waiting 5 minutes.

I just put the noodles in the bowl, pour water, cover it then microwave it for 3 minutes. Saves 2 minutes and washing the pot :p.

omg you just reminded me....I DONT HAVE RAMEN IN MY APARTMENT i just moved in! wtf am i thinking

are these bite size i look at the salmon and it looked so small...damnit i love cooking too but without my george foreman i suck haha

for this particular meal, the dishes were a little more than bite sized, probably 3 bites or so. for larger meals with more courses i tend to cut the portions down accordingly.

Looks very professional. Would you, by chance, be a professional chef, or is this simply a hobby of yours?

this is a hobby of sorts. i like to eat and creating good food is a passion. if i had more money to burn i'd try to open a restaurant.

need more pepper. spicy spicy spicy

i personally love spicy food. however, not everyone has the same palette. beyond that, most of the dishes would be overpowered by any kind of extreme heat.

Crap, now I'm hungry.

I wouldn't mind if you put some greens to spruce up the presentation a little.

you're right. i'd actually prefer to incoporate more veggies and/or starches. the problem is that i'm on my own. even my wife doesn't help. there's only so much you can do with two hands...

I was thinking about complaining about the lack of veggies until I realized that you have probably worked for hours in the kitchen to get the meat done (and kudos for that - it looks just perfect). Still I would probably enjoy fewer courses with more side dishes, if only for the variety of tastes.

i do those types of meals also, but that was not the theme in this case. because i did a wine pairing with each dish. the flavors have to be somewhat concentrated. if you have too many flavors, wine pairing becomes very difficult if not impossible. for variety, i sometimes throw in a vegetable based dish or two. on this occasion all the guests were male, so more meat the merrier. :D
