This is the best, most powerful M5 processor that Apple has ever released. It is truly the most complete fulfillment of Steve Jobs' vision for Apple processors. Apple can't wait to see the incredible things customers are able to do. Apple thinks you're gonna love them. Stay tuned for more surprises from the greatest pipeline ever....

The fact that Apple isn’t allowing trade ins for M2 AVP really is concerning. It gives a message that not even Apple wants the device back. I get the feeling that Apple was forced to update AVP as 5nm chips such as M2 are winding down. Apple really needs to drop cash to get devs into the space. Looking at AVP App Store and it’s a sad state of affairs.

M5 iPad Pro feels like M4 v2 and that’s fine. It’s a really solid device.

New M5 MBP, that’s great. Gone are the days of Intel where we had to wait many years for new hardware.

Kind of hoping Apple holds back AppleTV and HomePod till next year and does a super Siri/Homekit event where they also announce their camera and screen HomePod.

I get the feeling we’ll see the tv and HomePod mini tomorrow though. Again, two devices that need to get away from 5nm but do they really need updates? It’d be nice to see Apple justify the new appletv by using AV1 decoder for near 4k Blu-ray movie streaming. AVS enthusiasts would go nuts. It’d put Kaleidascape and their $5k-$100k streaming boxes out of business. Otherwise it’s already fast enough.

Apple killed the vison air to go after glasses like meta. I have an M4 Pro MBP, don’t need the M5, if they made the iPad Pro work more like a MBP I would get it and have 2 in 1.

I am waiting with curiosity how the fold will go, as I didn’t use my iPad Pro enough bro care and having a phone and tablet in one woild be worth it. But to part a 5.5” external display when the world is at full device sized external is. Joke.

If anything Apple has a huge cost advantage but they also want massive margins.

All minor updates. Good to see that there is no price hike across the board. Happy to see more RAM in 256 and 512GB iPad Pros and of course faster charging for them. Would have liked to see at least one new color option for both iPad Pro and MacBook Pro. Expecting the new Vision Pro to be available in more countries.

Macbook with M5, M4 Pro and M4 Max. And the Studio with M4 Max and M3 Ultra. Really weird.
We've seen this before. I think it's all about ramping up manufacturing of the M5 chips which would clearly be the new main chip far outpacing the volume of the pro and max chips. I think Apple simply took advantage of that chip manufacturing ramp up to merely swap in the M5 chip for the M4. No other real changes as they know they are planning more substantial changes in 2026.

It's funny because it's true.
