Here's how iOS 7 looks with all flat 3rd party icons

I don't know... Did you guys saw the new MIUI design? Is not flat but looks way better than iOS6. I was expecting something like that for iOS7 not this Flat design that will make me hate using the devices I loved.

Exactly. Could not have chosen the worst and distracting wallpaper to demo your point....

Actually that wallpaper is beautiful on iphone and iPad under iOS 6 since the icons actually have a drop shadow.

Its more the placement of the icons exactly match up with the colors on the wallpaper thats the problem.

The change in icon size from 114px to 120px is meant to ensure that if devs don't update their icons asap, not only will they look antique but they will appear blurred as well. The apps (or icons, rather) pictured here have gotten a jump
on the competition and provide a window into "what were they thinking" with the design of iOS 7. I think it's terrific.

Drop shadows may not be necessary if the "perspective" feature works as advertised. Just a thought...

You mean the Parallax stuff? I shut that off, A. It annoyed me without the right wallpaper, and B. I noticed a higher battery decrease with it on for some reason.

At the same time, the background and arrangement of the icons was clearly intentional in order to have the icons blend in with the background. Even so, the icons are still easy to distinguish from the background. The background used in the OP is utterly hideous, but of course tastes differ.

No where did Apple promise that all backgrounds would work and look great. So if you pick one like this expect it to look like Rainbow Bright horked on the screen
