Is this the same as what's in Accessibility in 26.0?

(Settings > Accessibility > Display :: Reduce Transparency)

I tried the "Reduce Transparency" mode, but ultimately turned it off. The accompanying option called "increase Contrast" give me the clean, sharp edges that I prefer with interfaces.

I've actually switched from Dark Mode to Light on my iPhone and Mac because Liquid Glass is unbearable in Dark Mode.

It's truly astounding that the "Design Company" shipped a new design language so bad that just a month later they nerf it. Those must have been some truly interesting meetings at Apple in the last few weeks.

For people who seem confused and can’t read…

This just applies a tint

The reduce transparency setting in accessibility only reduces transparency.

It’s like looking out a car window with tinted windows. Or wearing sunglasses. You can still see clearly…it’s just a little darker. The transparency is the same. It’s just darker. Two totally different settings.

If you hate Liquid Glass then this isn’t going to remove it.

I like the tint effect :)

People need to try the dark tinted mode. You can still see the imagery warping behind it, but now it's like actual dark tinted windows rather than a twisted color fest making text hard to read.

Glad and not surprised they added this option. I'm ok for the most part with liquid glass, but there are places where it causes me to have to focus for an extra second or two to see what I need especially notifications on the lock screen.

So glad tinted is an option now. It was barely legible in some apps.

Great to have options. I love Liquid Glass. My parents probably won’t and that’s the reason I’ve held off on updating them.

Btw, and this might be an unpopular opinion. But, Apple should again, paywall the developer betas. The only reason this was such a big story in my opinion was because you had non-developers and non-techie people download the developer betas in June and then make TikToks about it and telling people how bad it was.

I hated paying the $99 fee every year, but I was happy too because I am an early adopter and I do like to test things before hand and I know what the word beta means lol

I don't understand why the light mode liquid glass is so opaque compared to the dark mode. It's especially jarring in Safari when it goes to a light mode floating control at the bottom (even with dark mode on) and it barely lets the background color through at all. The harsh white gradient is also annoying.

This is “full” Liquid Glass but seems more like a bug?:

I do not like Liquid Glass. I thought that one of the main reasons to have devices such as a Mac or an iPhone or an iPad was to get work done. Yes, I'm a big fan of fun and a pleasurable experience when it comes to UI (DogCow anyone?) but Liquid Glass sometimes makes getting things done a LOT harder.

I have tried turning on Reduce Transparency and that makes a mess of folder displays in Dark Mode so I am using plain old Liquid Glass on iOS and iPad Os. I haven't moved to Tahoe because of Liquid Glass with the Mac OS.

I'm hoping that the new setting described here makes things more legible and easier to read. When Ive was working at Apple sometimes form followed function (keyboards, etc.) and Liquid Glass seems a return to this thinking - a gimmick that in some instances makes things hard to read, is not my idea of a good idea. 😃
I agree with this wholeheartedly however I will say it works a lot better on a Mac than it does on an iPhone/iPad.

Way too many people crying over Liquid Glass😂 People really don’t like change. Apple should take notes from BMW. When BMW decided to put that big grill on the 3 and 4 series, they haven’t changed it and stuck with their vision and now some to most people is fine with it. Apple should stick to what they believe in just like any other company that will.
