Now all they need to do is add a button above the bar to allow you to select the audio output and they're almost caught up to Android from several years ago

"a more streamlined volume experience" :D

You sound like you really want an iPhone with iOS 13, can’t blame you.

HAHAHAHAHAHA that looks so trash. They truly aren’t even trying anymore.

Off to the side like that? That is bleeping ugly. Lmao!

Even Apple employees don't want to use iOS any more, so they started putting real OS features into iPadOS

Of course they don’t. All apple employees are still using windows mobile 8.1. /s

While google, Facebook, and Microsoft employees can’t stop using iPhone, iPad and Mac OS.

Even huawei cfo uses an iPhone an iPad and a Mac.

It was iconic though lol

Because it was good design. Front and center, in a semi-transparent overlay, with nice little bars and notches separating the levels as they went up or down.

The new design is trash, absolute trash. Lazy and uninspired like everything they’ve done to their design for the past 4 years.

Never understood the hate for the previous volume HUD. Not that I mind this new one, either. It's just a volume indicator, people!
I think it's more of an - it's so easy to just move it, so why obscure the content when every other platform has a better implementation because it is mildly annoying -type thing. While this is certainly subjective, it is seemingly the general consensus.

I don’t get it. Just do it like Instagram does. (image attached for those who don’t have IG)

In portrait mode, this new volume HUD is located at the left side of the iOS device, both on the Home screen and within apps.

When you're adjusting the volume with the iPhone held in landscape mode with a landscape mode app, the volume interface appears at the top of the display.

Wow, that looks great.
Love the animation.

As someone who games on the iPhone, the volume indicator is especially annoying. I don't care if it only lasted a couple of seconds- having a giant block pop up dead-center on your screen every single time you want to adjust the volume was a horrible UI choice.

I don't think this is the perfect solution, but this is already so much better than what we have now.
Now they just need to make sure home bar is always at the bottom. Extremely annoying when the home bar and subsequent slide actions too close to the home bar disrupts the game play.

I hate the current one. It's incredibly annoying to be watching a video, needing to adjust the volume, and having the center of the screen covered. This will be a huge improvement.
The old one took up half of my iPhone display. Yuck!

I am not one of those people on these forums who constantly trashes Apple... but I have to agree. This design is trash.

On the other hand... I am happy about the new placement.

yes, and it's super annoying when you're playing real racing 3(for example) and lowering the volume obstructs your view long enough for you to crash terribly! :)

Wonder how much slower will it make the iPad Mini A8 2GB model? No updates to 13 till I find out! And if is slower, all the rest of the iPads will be too!

So they have the resources to devote to this -- but can't be bothered to implement a volume limit? Grrr.

Note: not a headphone volume limit, not a music volume limit. A device volume limit behind a PIN. Kids with disabilities depend on iDevices but can't always understand the need to keep the volume reasonable.
