Don't you see?!?!?!? Instead of selling eleventh million iPhones, Apple is missing out on their chance to sell eleventh million and five!!!

But yet loose out on the lucrative MFi licensing

Something competition and regulations complain about - BUT have no issues with power companies doing the same on billing accounts, cell providers with 'Activation Fee' the network is active already the eSIM and SIM cards of all variants are already in the database just need to enter to the billing plan and boom provisioning is done. In other words SIM cards are already active just dormant.
