Haven't anybody looked at the invitation logo . its a hot core ... HOT CORE <- .. and Peek (preview ) performance = Pro users ... Also its multiply Apple logos that goes from Cold to HOT .... so 1 Apple product that scales from "slow" performance to peak performance

So a Mac mini and Mac Pro are to be replaced with 1 products that scales from Mac mini performance to Mac Pro performance .... so my guess .

Peek Performance = Mac Mini Pro .. The new Mac Pro Cube .. Up to 16 TB SSD, 128 Core GPU and 48 Core CPU, Bandwidth of 800 GB/sec, next year we see a 1.6 TB/sec bandwidth .

... starting at the low, low price of 9999?

All I need is a Mac Mini with a decent amount of RAM.

no starting at 999 and all the way up and beyond ... Apple is always improving the package of the product to be more environmental friendly and less footprint so why not make "1 machine" for the desktop range starting at a smal Mac mini box for 999 and then for 2999 you get a double height Mac mini box that is more Pro and then you have a tripple height mac mini cube that starts at 3999 all the way up to 9999 that is totally peak performance ... similar to the MacBook / MacBook Pro range

That's what you want. I doubt it's what we'll get.

no what I want is a 1U Xserve style Mac Pro that can sit in my studio that has 10x performance running 20-40 TB SSD TB 4 and expandable ARM cores, GPU Cores and memory using hot swap SoC Chips .. that what I can switch my Mac Pro cylinder and all external raids .... but that is never going to happen ..

Does anyone on this forum not know that the new model iPhone is always a fall event?

Where are you getting the 800GB/s UMA bandwidth from, are you expecting Apple to double the number of memory channels (and double the RAM chips) on their SoCs...?

M1 Max has 400GB/s bandwidth with LPDDR5...

LPDDR5X would bump that up to 500GB/s bandwidth (it would also allow 4x the RAM capacity)...

Multiple SoCs in a package; will dual SoCs mean double the bandwidth, and quad SoCs 4x the bandwidth...?

Single SoCDual SoCsQuad SoCs
LPDDR5400GB/s UMA800GB/s UMA1.6TB/s UMA

So you start by saying Apple could replace both the Mac mini & the Mac Pro with a single product, but then you go on to outline three different boxes...?!?

Things you shouldn't expect

1. Mac Mini with M1 Max. Not now not ever.

2. iMac 27 in Space Grey. It's over forget about it.

3. Macbook Air with M2 and Notch. No leaks, no products.

4. Macbook Pro M2 13 with 2 ports and Notch. Reason same as 3.

Things you should expect

1. One Republic music

2. Tim Apple boasting his fitness thanks to Apple Watch.

3. New Apple Watch bands in Yellow and Blue colors.
You forgot

1. Some apple employee saying “this is the fastest and most advanced x product we have ever made.”

Basically any minor spec update to the latest version could fall into this revolutionary statement

Are you begging to get disappointed? ?

I think the peek is just a hint for the new generation of Apple Silicon which will be presented in form of the M2. This can be considered a peek into the future performance of Apple Silicon. The M2 will be specked in the 13” MBP and the Mac mini. Apart from that we’ll see a new Mac mini with at least the M1 Pro, a new iPhone SE and a new iPad Air. That’s it.

I would love to be wrong. ?
We might get the M2 on Tuesday, or we might not, but I seriously doubt there will be a "peek" at the M2 significantly in advance of its actual release. The M2 would go into machines that are the Mac's bread and butter, and I doubt Apple would risk the Osborne effect on those machines.

If there is a "peek" in the sense of a reveal of a product that's at least a few months away (and I agree that it's a strong possibility), I think it's almost certain to be of a device/computer that Apple does not currently sell, or sells in such low quantities that a drop-off in sales would be trivial. The iMac Pro absolutely qualifies, the Mac Studio (or Mini Mac Pro, or whatever) also qualifies, and the Mac Pro might qualify.

I also don't think we get a peek at the M2. I think we get the M2 and that is supposed to be the peek at the M2 Apple Silicon generation.
But now that we have this Mac Studio rumor maybe we get a peek at that while they already talk about the Mac mini...

Whenever someone has to 'set expectations', be prepared for disappointments.
Even when it’s MacRumors “setting expectations”… for Apple’s event, over which they have no control and for which they no solid information? Seems like faulty logic.

Als long as you are aware that those rumours we have are not solid information and realise that it could come totally different you are prepared. ?
Just don't expect any of the rumours to come true. That might lead to frustration.
