I’m a fan of this new button, despite thinking that they may have loaded too much functionality into it. Whether it would motivate me to buy a new iPhone, that I rather doubt.

I'm also a fan of the button and what it brings to the camera features... I think they are limiting themselves by calling it Camera Control, given it's touch capacity it seems to be in a great position to stroke with your thumb to scroll up and down on web pages or endless scrollers like Instagram....

I fully understand that, but in the end I don't pay full price with cash and able to leverage the equity to save money.

If you actually understood you’d be making a different argument. But you don’t and you are in good company. Apple received full asking price from you and you paid full asking price.

We have already had 3-D screens on phones around 2011, they were awful.
The new iPhone 16 Pro has a new set of microphones that let you… You guessed it… Record in Spatial Audio. It was literally demonstrated during the keynote.

Universal Message apps already exist, and iOS allows them in the European Union.

So… one thing that’s already been done and was awful, a thing that apple is already doing, and the third thing that already exists elsewhere.
I think it says a lot when people complain about no innovation… And the only thing they can come up with is a 3D screen (hello HTC) and some other things that already exist or (my favorite) things Apple already added.
Imagine cavemen sounding like you; “Oh no, we tried inventing the wheel 13 years ago, it was awful, what a waste of time!”; they’d sound like right luddites.

Universal Messaging App in the EU, not from where I’m looking daddio. A single app that knows a message came from WhatsApp so sends it back out that way, or realised it was actually an email so formatted it accordingly. Nope it just doesn’t exist yet!!!!!

Microphones sound good don’t they. All we need now is an easy video editor to combine these spatial clips together.

Bless

If you have a Thunderbolt monitor, you must probably have proper hardware like a Mac Mini, PC Tower OR a device that's actually designed to work in conjuction, not a phone.

And NO, please do not bring the Samsung DEX to the conversation, people that have used DEX for daily use (instead of demoing 5 minutes for a 15 minute youtube review), know that DEX will get phone warm, that depending on the screen the resolution might look like QVGA, etc.

So, while some people want to pretend and convince others that DEX is the last thing, it is actually not that great.
Or perhaps you’re at a friends house or hot desking, or in a cafe or multiple other locations where just using a keyboard for 30 minutes would have the time required???

Perhaps you don’t want a Mac mini, a laptop or similar each with an account for every member of your family. You just want the ability for them to each plug their pen iPhone in as and when they need a decent keyboard.

iPhone is more than capable, easily as good as a 2018 MacBook Air for simple tasks. Eventually we’ll laugh at having multiple devices all doing the same kind of computing.

Never heard of DEX, you probs need to joint a Samsung forum with all that knowledge.

So write Tim Cook and tell him you want an iPhone with a 3D display.
Or go get an HTC 3D phone from 2011.
I don't know what else to tell you, a 3D display outside of two separate screens in a headset seems to cause more issues than it solves, and this is not a new thing.

We tried it like 6 years ago too if you want a recent example. Red Hydrogen One was...not great.

Speaking as the "proud" owner of one!

And it’ll probably end that way also.
the TouchBar was actually good for some people.
Just cost too much of a premium.
Proved to Apple that touch maybe wasnt as important as some made it out to be...

This touch button is much simpler and will probably add a lot of functionality to many camera users.
and if other apps get access there is a whole new bunch of reasons it will stay and succeed.

I agree. Some good points there.

Im just switching from 15pm to 16pm thanks to my switch plan cost me only £1 to change my iPhone every 90 days with the latest model. I’ve read so many posts with unhappy people mostly about iPhone design, I really love the look of iPhones, are realy look super from my point of view. iPhones are special comparing with all other phones from my point of view and I would never ever switch to androids no matter how smart they look.
