And those dreaded messages / threads saying "downloading...." "Updating...." and "Installed...." and lastly "What the heck!? I didn't ask for this? I am going back to iOS 18"..

for me still a miracle why companies waste so much time in meetings...
100% agree. I've been in them since 9am. I think 99.999% of the time it's people who have no real job or skillset so they create meetings to "play pretend" like they're some real value to the company.

Meanwhile those of us with tons of work to do that we need concentration for suffer endlessly.

Which is insane if so. Buggy AF
Spoke too soon. I am on the RC with Beta Updates disabled and IOS 26 just showed up in “Also Available.” I have a 15 Pro. I am going to install it and use it for a bit and let y’all know if it is improved.

indeed, the ios 26 build is now 23A341 (RC has been 23A340)..
Me too I'm going to install after RC and I have found the release under "Also Available"..

Wow I’m disappointed and annoyed why release two different updates at the same time 🤷🏻‍♂️. Only wanted a bigger clock but it doesn’t work with custom backgrounds that is beyond stupid 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Update: it is more stable, and the glitches I reported seem to have been fixed.

On a side note, I tested FireWire compatibility on MacOS 26. It looks like Apple completely removed the functionality.

I use FireWire to access my old Macs in target disk mode. I do a lot of retro computing so it is a bit important to have the ability to do this on my daily driver laptop.

In the meantime, I am going to stick with Sequoia and look for an older MacBook to utilize for talking to my older machines.

I am extremely disappointed in Apple. This is extremely anti consumer of them and I doubt it would’ve cost them much to continue supporting FireWire.

I don’t mind sticking with Sequoia
