If you can unlock your iPhone using FaceID with a mask on you’re not wearing the mask properly.
Right, I work in a hospital. I’m wearing my mask like every other doctor and nurse. It could be that it’s actually learnt the deviations in my face and used AI/deep learning to recognise it’s me, but such technology sounds crazy to me.

Edit - I believe it also worked when I wore an FFP3 (N95) mask too, but nowhere near as often due to the considerable size of it.

Just make sure that you put up the big "14.5 is out now!" post on the main page one or two hours before it's actually released again. Those two hours of people saying where they live and that it hasn't been released there yet always make my day. /s
Exactly or just Google 10am Pacific to <time zone>

Sometimes they publish early but hide the articles but not from search engines. So when you do a search you’ll see indexed webpages saying a new product has just been announced even though it’s not even 12am on the event day yet.

But I thought Tuesday is Soylent Green Day :D
Wiw i kniw covud gas somewhat imacted foid suplys in some areas, but tgat tbings are so desperate that we have to start using Soylent Green us news to ne, we all know want that stuff is made of right? Btw qoudos for a refference to a imho good movie

I know they say reporting quality has gone down these days but Jesus this is pretty low.

Who knew you could make an “article” out of.. converting a time and date to different time zones.

I guess I’m being too harsh. The entire concept of time zones is quite new, 345+ years is clearly not enough time for people to learn the basic concepts of Timezones and offsets.
what do you do for a living?

I hope my "ancient" iPhone 11 Pro/2018 iPP don't melt with this update;) Seriously, I do like that Apple allows for iOS updates even for older devices.

Let me say this, and maybe this in not everyone's experience, but I've had a lot less trouble with iOS updates than with Mac OS updates in the last few years. So I usually don't wait to update iOS.

As easy as it is to restore should one have a problem, I don't typically wait, unless MR alerts to some kind of boot loop malfunction etc. Same with MacOS, which is even faster.

Always found it odd they never made it available at 10am everywhere. So what if the Australians get it before us?

Excited to not have to type in my passcode 45 times at the grocery store anymore to check my grocery list! Only took a year.
Seriously. How this wasn’t a massive priority for iOS 14 in sept is beyond me. Guess all of apples employees were getting Uber eats for 6 months and never saw the inside of a store like the rest of us. Hah!

I'll just wait until the OTA notification drops. I mean I don't want to get bitten by some weird bug that slipped by the beta phase. You guys can test it out first. :D

Finally I can set my default music app to spotify and not listen to my free U2 I got years ago every time I get in the car.
Why would you be forced to listen to U2 every time you get in your car?
I have wireless CarPlay and only the playlist/album that I last listened to continues every time I turn on the ignition.

iOS 14.5 and associated updates for iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS are all launching soon, bringing the ability to unlock an iPhone with an Apple Watch, AirTag support, dual-SIM 5G support, Siri improvements, updates for Podcasts, Maps, and News, and more.

As part of its April 20 press releases alongside the "Spring Loaded" media event, Apple revealed that iOS 14.5 and the other updates would be available "starting next week," meaning that we can expect them to debut sometime between April 26 and April 30. Apple has also informed developers that all apps must be built using the iOS 14 SDK and comply with App Tracking Transparency requirements starting Monday, April 26, suggesting we may see a release of the new operating system updates on that date.

Apple's iOS updates tend to come out around 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, so our best guess is that iOS 14.5 and related updates will be released at that time on Monday, April 26. While there are no guarantees Apple will stick to its usual release timing, that seems to be a pretty reasonable guess, so we've put together this list of corresponding times around the world:

  • Honolulu, Hawaii — 7:00 a.m. HST
  • Anchorage, Alaska — 9:00 a.m. AKDT
  • Cupertino, California — 10:00 a.m. PDT

Anyone know if Apple will fix Apple CarPlay to not freeze on a 2016 Honda Accord? Ever since IOS14. It’s been awful!
