Interesting question. It‘s a convenient way for Apple to upsell folks who really want the blackest Watch possible, I guess. On the other hand, the S7 is rumored to be a re-design so maybe Apple wants to reduce the cases/SKUs of the first gen of that new design.

Yeah, I am afraid they might discontinue it if the Series 7 comes with a redesign. The space black Series 6 feels like they’re just using up the leftover cases and lugs from the space black Series 5.
You could always purchase a SB S6 before the S7 announcement. Apple has a 2 week return period. Of course, that’s 6 months out.
The S6 is slightly smaller in all dimensions than the S5. To me, the fact that they kept the SB feels more like a side effect of the pandemic.
I was a little surprised that they didn’t come out with a Hermès woven or sport loop but I feel like that could be a side effect of the pandemic as well.

I have the S5 so getting the S6 just for the space black color seems a little excessive for me. Personally, I prefer space black but the silver stainless steel is equally striking so if they choose to discontinue the space black with the S7 I would still be fine with the silver stainless steel.
The fact that they didn't introduce any Attelage bands with black lugs made me wonder whether space black is on its way out.

I think the Space Black Hermès will discontinue with the S7 but will make a return down the road, similar to what Apple does with the ceramic models. Makes them more “exclusive”. They might replace it with the Graphite, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it reverted back to only a SS model.
I’d feel much different if Apple sold the Hermès bands with an option to change the lugs to SB, thus matching the casings.

I agree. If the S7 has a redesign, I can see Apple offering only the SS model for the S7 and then have space black be the tentpole feature of the S8 Hermès similar to what they did with the S5.

I received this product red ruby modern buckle yesterday. It was a crazy good deal (around 50 euros instead of 150 euros) and it looks almost exactly the same as the Hermès Rouge Piment. It's just as soft and it is produced in a small traditional workshop in France too. 🧐🤔🤭

I switched from Hermes for the first time (after 3 AW Hermes) to get a Graphite S6. I reeeeally love the graphite, and reeeeeally miss the Hermes faces, particularly the new one which allows complications. So yeah. A graphite Hermes S7 would have me pre-ordering on day 1.

Engraved “A” in “STAINLESS STEEL” steel buckle looks off, otherwise the strap itself looks decent.

Thanks!! Now that you mention it, it definitely looks off. There's no line in the middle of the "A". I've asked the seller for a clearer picture. NP. Other than the buckle, the interior leather on the buckle strap looks odd, smoother, cheaper than the pin hole strap.

Hard to imagine they’ve gone to the trouble of getting the box together with a TaoBao fake. I think the buckle strap had some moisture exposure that the tongue didn’t which is a little weird but if it was a one-off accident, I guess it’s plausible. I’m very curious to see if a sharper/brighter picture restores the horizontal line to that A.Engraved “A” in “STAINLESS STEEL” steel buckle looks off, otherwise the strap itself looks decent.

Maybe you can get a picture from the side of the buckle. No fake got the shape of that right AFAIK. Left is original Hermès.

Yesterday I got a call from Hermes Munich that my reservation for a Apple Watch Series II, SS Single Tour Barenia with folding buckle arrived and was ready for shipment but also yesterday after visiting the Apple Store Amsterdam I decided to buy another AW Series 2, the Apple Watch Series 2 Space Black with rubber band and an extra black nylon band.

Got 2 additional pictures! I guess the initial pictures were just bad resolution? The line in the A seems more distinctive here. Perhaps it's a should-buy then, if this authenticates it? 😅 I want a noir-like band with silver HW.
