Personally, I don't mind if people get drunk, as long as they can still walk, have some judgement remaining, don't start fights, don't break windows, don't bang cars, don't throw stuff, don't get himself and friends kicked out of the pub/bar/club, and don't need us to babysit him/her for the rest of our night.

While I don't do it more than once every 6 - 8 weeks now (estimate), I have drank until I've become tipsy numerous times. Sorry that I fit some sort of bad stereotype, but I do drink, and when I go out to a bar with friends, I rarely limit myself to 2 or 3 drinks unless I have something important to do the next day. However, out of my own judgement, I usually just go home at around 1 AM or so (because I live so close to the "city"). Just don't do the things I mentioned before, and your drunkenness is tolerable. Otherwise, you're a pain in the ass and a liability to all your friends.

I feel and am the same way, but I'd back that 6-8 weeks down to more like 2-4. (its hard to not be drinking at rugby games/parties)

Wasteland. Dumb High School Kids.

U2?

I see.

Anyway, I figured I might as well put forth an opinion. As long as they don't get trashed enough to endanger anyone, then there's really no problem, IMHO. Underage drinking is going to happen, somehow, somewhere. It's just like taxes, except not legal and arguably less tedious.

My prom was this past Saturday. I didn't go because its a waste of my time and my life, and the whole reason people go is to get trashed afterwards. I hate alcohol, and drugs are stupid so there was absolutely no point in wasting my precious time.

Instead I stayed home and surfed the web on my MacBook. Much more fun that prom would ever be.

 You sure about that? Perhaps you should re-read the thread title.
