My wife and I had this on until one night. We were in bed watching TV and on TV they said "hey, seriously?" followed a question, don't remember what that was. Both our phones started talking with Siri and scared us at 1st, so that featured got turned off right away :p:D

I love it. I use it a lot when doing homework. Some times I say "Hey Siri do this math" sometimes I say "read my text and respond". All while being productive at the same time

I want to use it but while it is unplugged. To hell with the battery life I still charge the phone every night already.

The other reason not to have it always engaged is so that when someone says, "Hey, Siri", 400 phones don't answer at once. :)

Mine actually activates sometimes during normal conversations that come close to "Hey, Siri", so I'd rather not have that happen more often than the few times it has. Example: My son was in my bedroom (where the iPhone is docked on the night table) and said, "Oh, seriously?" to something I said. Siri chimed right in. :)

Don't use it since the phone has to be plugged it making it useless when I'm out and about.
I am able to use it without being plugged in

I love the feature, it's so useful especially while driving.

On another note, the other day I unplugged my phone from the charger and it still allowed me to use the "Hey Siri" feature for about 10 minutes afterward ... not sure why. Maybe a bug?

Yea I was able to too but tried to do so just now and wouldn't work...confised

You need to be on AC power and that negates its usefulness for me. I'd rather be able to turn it on and see how it affects the battery and not have Apple decide for me.

Love to know.

It has to in order to respond when you say "Hey Siri". And whether or not it really discards the data, only Apple knows. I'm not very trusting of any voice/video monitoring systems.

Same reason I bought a PS4 when the new consoles came out. Originally Kinect was required on the XB1.

When I said not always listening to you, I meant the 99% of the time you don't plug it in. It only works when plugged in.

It's a great feature for the car but I don't want it listening at home or the office. I wish it could be configured to only work when it's plugged in paired to my car's bluetooth. I'm sure other functionality would benefit from making the phone aware that it's in the car.
