My previous phone was an iPhone 6S and I think "Hey Siri" worked significantly better on the 6S than the iPhone X. "Hey Siri" almost never works on the first attempts and usually it takes two attempts to trigger it. I have to hold the phone close to my mouth to get it working. I have to say "Hey Siri" several times to get it working when the iPhone X is on the desk that I'm working on.

Did anyone notice anything similar?

Try these troubleshooting steps. Make sure Low Power Mode is disabled first:

1.) Access settings
2.) Select Siri & Search
3.) If ‘Het Siri’ is enabled, disable it, then reenable it, which will prompt you to retrain Siri with your voice. Which will then allow you to refresh Siri.

"Hey Siri," works fine on my iPhone X. I can usually summon Siri even if I am quite far from my iPhone. Like other people said, retrain Siri and that should fix the issues you are having.

If that does not fix it, you might want to take it into an Apple Store and have them check out your phone. You say you have to hold the phone close to your mouth to get Siri to work, it *could* be an issue with the microphones on your iPhone X (or something else), however, I doubt that.

Reset and retrain and you should be all set.

Has been working just fine for me like it has always on all my previous iPhones. It's probably you. Try to set it up again.

Thanks for all replies. I tried setting up again few times. I see a slight improvement but still overall performance is very poor compared to my 6s

Take your phone to Apple and have them check it out. The iPhone X should be superior to your 6s in every way, even when invoking Siri since it has more and better microphones to hear you give the command "Hey Siri." I would think Apple will swap it out for you since it is still under warranty. Up to you obviously, but for a $1,000-$1,250 phone, I would expect absolute perfection, even with something like "Hey Siri."

In addition to all the other suggestions, I‘d like to add that when setting up „Hey Siri“ again, read out the Hey Siri prompts from a couple of meters away from the phone, for example from the other end of the room. I‘ve had some issues with Hey Siri aswell on my 6S and this suggestion worked wonders for me; it makes Siri significantly more perceptive and seemingly increases the sound spectrum that will work for Hey Siri, even when calling her from close range afterwards.

If it still won‘t work out, then I‘d agree with the comments that you should probably take it to an Apple Store and have it checked out. But this is something I‘d strongly suggest trying before taking more serious measures.
