Not me. But, since retirement, I've occasionally asked her what day it is.Before this thread/article, how many people even thought to ask Siri how old they are?
I am an Apple fan boy and I use both Siri and Alexa daily a lot. The functionality of Siri is a joke in comparison and I’m not just talking about for gimmick features. Furthermore, in some ways, Siri seems to get more stupid (actual regression) as time goes on. It feels as if Siri will never catch up."Hey Siri, add ketchup to the shopping list..."
Who's speaking???
"Hey's Siri, Watch TV"...<previously created shortcut>
I've sent some results to your iPhone
God, I wish they would fix these problems!!!
Same here.My birthday is in July as well, and she gave me the wrong age. One year older than I actually am.
iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 15.3.
I retired back in August. Yesterday was the first day where I went most of the day thinking it was the wrong day (thought it was Sunday). Didn't figure it out until I sat down to watch the AFC championship game and couldn't figure out why it wasn't on. Actually asked my Alexa. Not me. But, since retirement, I've occasionally asked her what day it is.
Got the same 29 comment, and I’m in my late 40s. ?38 but I don’t lol a day over 29. Thanks Siri!
Seriously, it changes all the time, like every year or so! Honestly, I sometimes have to think about it for a moment.Speak for yourself! I forgot how old I am all the time! ?
It might be the profile picture.Siri got my age right and then said, "But you don't look a day over 29."
Now I have to take it in to get the front camera fixed as it's obviously broken.
I've actually done this numerous times during Covid since I really forget what year it is. Siri used to give to correct answer. Now... Not.Before this thread/article, how many people even thought to ask Siri how old they are?
That won't work, most users would be identified as talking like a 14 year old and while probably true, they would be pissed. If Apple was clever, it would have Siri analyze the apparent age of the user's voice before answering. Then Siri could either add or subtract five years depending on the user's detected age. Result: 15% sales pop in iOS devices!
;-)
Intentionally in my case. I know how old I am. Apple and others seeing my card don't need to know. You might not have set your birthday in your iPhone's contact card.
Google Assistant has started giving "approximate" answers to math questions, claims it does bot have any information on who won the 2020 Presidential election (yeah, OK), keeps slipping into response mode when I have it set to interpreter, and plays random songs in response to questions... and it was still that much better than Siri that I kept it and sold my HPMs.I have a slew of HomePods and a few Nest/Google Hubs, and I rely on Google Assitant for Q&A. Siri is far too unreliable for my taste or provides the wrong response. ??
I'm old enough, Siri, you don't need to add 6 months to my actual birthday. I am getting the incorrect answer. My birthday is in July Siri, it's right there on my contact card. (iPhone & Mac)
If you ask Siri how old you are, there is a decent chance that the voice assistant will get your age wrong if your birthday has yet to pass this year.

For example, while my birthday is in April and I am still 27 years old for a few more months, Siri tells me that I am already 28 when asked. As noted by the Dutch blog iCulture, the discrepancy likely relates to Siri miscalculating birthdays by only taking into account a person's year of birth and not the month or day. As evidence of this, Siri displays the correct age for anyone with a birthday that has already passed this year.
Note that if Siri doesn't know your age, then you probably haven't added your birthday to your iPhone's contact card.
While you probably know your own age, the issue extends to the ages of anyone in your iPhone's contacts list that you have entered a birthday for. Siri tells me that my wife is 29 years old, for example, when she is actually 28.
We asked a handful of iPhone users on both iOS 15.3 and the iOS 15.4 beta to ask Siri how old they are, and all but one said the wrong age appeared. It's possible that the issue doesn't affect all users for reasons unclear.
All in all, this is a minor issue, but it certainly doesn't help with Siri's reputation. Fortunately, it should be something that Apple can fix quite easily.
