You are much nearer to being 28 years old than 27. To the nearest integer, Siri has correctly rounded up your age.
You could be on to something. Maybe Siri’s ML model just rounds up or down numbers to the nearest integer, which works fine in most cases but not birthdays.

Anyways, the most annoying thing about Siri is that she doesn’t seem to learn new stuff. I’m in a 15 year long relationships and Siri still asks me which phone number to use for me partner.

It’s the mobile one, for crying out loud.

If getting your birthday wrong is the worst thing that’s ever happened to you, you live a very blessed life indeed.
Must be a slow day at MacRumors! Quite concerned that forumites are worried that Siri doesn’t know their birthday, or are they so worried that they won’t remember it either.

Yea but he is still 27. You can’t have 28 if your birthday is still weeks/days away.
Siri should at least say something consistent like: « you will turn 28 years old in 5 days » something like that.

Siri said, “I don’t know your age.”
Got that initially, Siri showing my contact card. Bday was empty added the closed my contact card. Then re asked Siri still off by 5 months adding a year.

I’ve been VERY critical of George in charge of Siri and all this time with stock options Siri cannot do simple math now?! She was able to before.
wtf?!

This seems like a very stupid mistake, but I think I know why it didn't look stupid when the code was written. This code was meant for one purpose: To populate the # that goes into the iPhone Alert "Today is Julia's Xth Birthday".

It is never necessary to calculate the month and day for that variable. In the code it's probably stored as "identity's age" and then later on someone decided to use that value for other purposes not realizing the simplicity of that calculation.

"Age on birthday" is not the same as "Current Age".

My favourite siri-ism is trying to get it to give you an ETA when you’re driving to an appointment

Hey Siri, what time will I get there?
You’ll arrive in about 24 minutes
What time will it be when I get there?
You’ll arrive in about 24 minutes
What’s my ETA?
You’ll arrive in about 24 minutes.
What does ETA mean?
A particular time at which a ship or aircraft will arrive
At what particular time will I arrive?
You’ll arrive in about 24 minutes.
What time is it now?
It’s eleven fifty three a.m.
So what time will it be in 24 minutes?
It’s eleven fifty three a.m.
What’s eleven fifty three a.m. plus 24 minutes?
I don’t know that one.

Same bug on macOS 12.2

Yup, adding a year to my age here in Germany as well.

Tells me that I am 41, however it am getting 41 as late as October this year.
So it is not even an "rounding" issue, since I'm closer to my 40th than to my 41st birthday... Weird issue ?‍?

iPhone XS - iOS 15.2.1
My birthday is in June. Siri responds with my age as of then, rather than now.

It’s not Siri reputation that should be the concern here, but everyone who’s asking that question in the first place.

This might seem like it’s not really a big deal to many people. But it is. It shows how Apple must improve if they are going to succeed, in software /cloud based operations. It’s really not hard as a developer to get this one right. I suck at writing code and I can do it. Apple has to get better at all of this stuff.
