THat was the thing back then, all my friends would go on and battle. It was free too so that was awesome. I basically bought the DC for that game, and Soul Calibur.

Dreamcast does have some great games. My friend has my old one still hooked up. Have played some games literally to death (for the dics).

One game that was over and under hyped. Over and underappreciated if that makes sense...Shenmue. In some circles you heard about it, others not so much. Some loved it and some hated it. Not hidden for sure, but something to play once.

'We Love Katamari' on PS2. I think the sequel is coming out on Xbox live. It is mental. It is also brilliant. I lent it many of my friends (many not that into games) and they all loved it. I bought the soundtrack too, you should look it up.

Also much love for Advance Wars (GBA or DS). These title should be more popular than they are.

Arx Fatalis for Xbox and PC
really interesting game, good plot, good gameplay- like a darker version of Morrowind.

Republic for Mac and PC
Insanely steep learning curve, but once get past that, very detailed game play.

TimeShift
very cool game, never get tired of stopping time, plucking shotgun from guards hands, shooting them with it and then starting time again to get the blood spatter...

The Witcher PC

THis game is one of the best games I have ever played.
the moral choices and choosing the path of the lesser evil have at times made me clench jaw and stomach churn. Awesome game, very true to the novels.

Grandia for the PSX.

The sequels were never as good as the original. Not the best graphics by a long shot, but the way it was done...ahh.

When my disks got to the stage where the game just kept freezing, I actually went onto ebay and bought myself another copy of the game. THATs how much I enjoyed it. First and last time I will ever do that I should imagine.

I personally think Rare's Viva Pinata got overlooked on the 360. Microsoft became so focused on the needs of hardcore gamers, they just didn't know what to do with the game.

Casual games like VP deserve to be on another platform. For whatever reason, they don't sell well on the 360.

Viva Pinata is my favorite game on the 360. Yep came out too close to GOW, looked very kiddy and yet was very deep and complex.

Most peeps just didn't get it.

I thought it was amazing (unlike Party Animals which is awful)

I'm still very much in favor of VP. I purchased it at the same time I got GoW and the contrast between the two made for refreshing gaming sessions. As for kiddy, it certainly looks so, but I always found it hilarious that a "kid's game" would let you beat pinatas to death with a shovel, and then feed their remains to its friends. The first time I showed my girlfriend that mechanic, she was mortified.

The sin against nature that is the Pigxie also always seemed a bit more disturbing than it needed to be.
