When I went to the Bellevue store on the night they released Panther, I was surrounded by M$ employees. It was kinda funny. Some of them were bigger Apple zealots than most of the people here.

I'd like to see the lawsuit if they try to fire someone for using an iPod.
M$ is in even bigger trouble than we realize if even their Windows coders, Windows Media team, and other employees freely show their preference for Apple products inside the company and in Apple's retail stores.

Wasn't it Bill Gates that said Apple "had" a hit with th iPod, as if it were only a passing fad?

To be fair, it was "had a hit with Apple II, had a hit with the Mac, and has a hit with the iPod".

It was the past-tense Mac bit that annoyed people.

Ever read the book "Microserfs" by Douglas Coupland? Its about a coder at Microsoft who lives with other coders at MS, and is obsessed with Apple. :p

I know I know, random book suggestions are probably ignored, but this one is funny. He doesn't write like Vonnegut, but similar type of writer in terms of what he'll write about, and Coupland is pretty famous around the world. :)

I love 'Microserfs' it's probably my favourite book, I read it twice a year.
'Girlfriend in a Coma' is also very good.

An internal one. They probably have some corporate bulls**t programs encouraging workers to buy into the company products... every office I've worked in has.

That would be F'in' awesome if somebody hacked that internal site to redirect to the Mac OS X site! Experience more is right. Mwa-ha-ha. Okay, now I'm doing a Mr. Burns' "Excellent"...

They should open an Apple store right in front of the Microsoft Campus and give MS employees a deal on them. That would surely peeve Gatesy.

That would be one of the most intense work environments ever. Gates would be using special forces to hurt the moral of the sales team and then Jobs would be sending higly trained sales personel.

Everyone through the years has enjoyed putting down Apple at their own peril. Apple just keeps doing better and better.

Put another way, Apple merely shrugs off any attempts to kill it, and actually gets stronger doing so - a bit like Microsoft if you ask me. Could this post be interpreted as Apple Death Knell #whatever? Who knows...
