So my free 1 year sub was extended until Jan or Feb recently and I thought, since I have Apple music family I was going to go for the Apple One plan or whatever it is called when the sub was up.

I am seriously considering NOT doing it. If I don't it will be this kind of Social Justice love fest content, they are pushing so hard with that will be the reason. I do NOT want this kind of stuff, in my entertainment, whether it be television, sports or video games.

The very fact that I will have to see this plastered at the top of my Apple TV screen for 3-4 months when it comes out, like Oprah stuff I never watched either, is going to be irritating to say the least.

WHY?!?!? Why does Apple squander goodwill with crapola like this. The social justice shows are absolutely irritating. I refer to Oprah's shows, this, and Hala mainly. Apple has 95% good shows that don't have an irritating agenda, and then you get a show like this.
Don't let it bug you. Surely one can just not watch the shows that don't appeal to their mindset. I do it all the time.

You seem rather sensitive. You do realize there are other people who don't share your opinion and they pay their subscription fee the same as you do.
I have no problem with that, sign up for what you want. However I will kick my Apple TV to the curb if this continues.

I use it for everything TV now, since I just use the Spectrum App to watch Cable TV stuff. This kind of new stuff will be plastered at the top of my Apple TV screen for months, like the Oprah stuff. Give me an option to change that and that will be fine. If not, I am sure a Amazon or Roku device will work fine. Maybe even a combination of built in TV apps and a Roku.

It is shame that the political class continues to reap the benefits in society while many talented, capable artists are struggling. I don't care where you fall on the political spectrum, constantly retreading the "elite" for projects like this makes it more difficult for minorities to gain access. This is apathetical to the entire social justice movement. And I hate them, lol.

To every poster who has a negative reflex reaction to anything linked to Hillary Clinton, please just take some time to digest the list of people this series is likely to tell stories of:
  • Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
  • Helen Keller
  • Maria Von Trapp
  • Mary Ritter Beard
  • Harriet Tubman
  • Edith Windsor
  • Anne Frank
  • Ada Lovelace
  • Marie Curie
  • Sally Ride
  • Clara Barton
  • Eleanor Roosevelt
  • Malala Yousafzai
and think of a good reason those stories don’t deserve even wider recognition by audiences all over Earth.
I have no problem with stories of those people. Just host it with someone that has maybe 1/1000th the character of these people and it might get a better reaction.

The series is based on their book "The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience," and it will feature a diverse cast of trailblazing women.

The people at Apple saw the word "courage" and immediately thought, "Hey, that's us!" and decided they needed to produce a series about it. 😃

Strong women don't stick with men who repeatedly cheat on them and then lie about it to an entire nation.
This! I once read some blog post, during the 2016 election, about how she was going to be the first female president and a role model for all women.

I thought then....I hope not, I do not want my daughter to stick with a husband that cheats on her, multiple times, not to mention that whole WORLD new about it. On top of that she stuck with him only because she wanted to be president so bad, and he had political clout on that side. She sold her dignity to obtain that office and in the end she lost both the office and her dignity.

They do. Just get rid of the Hillary Clinton part. They could've picked anyone.

But 'anyone' hasn't collated these people's stories into a book. From the info in this post, it's clear the Clintons have.

And it would be naive to think that 'anyone' would have the name recognition to bring an audience.

Despite it seeming that – from the comments so far – most of the MacRumors readership of this thread are vehemently anti-Clinton, there needs to be recognition that to many people (and not just those in the USA), they are respected.

I'd hope that anyone who takes pride in thinking for themselves would put aside partisanship to give someone who is clearly an intellectual public person a(nother) chance, and potentially hear more they may not have otherwise learned.

I assume you mean by totally forgetting her. Yes, I agree. The Kardashians have done more than her, and that's saying something because they sure haven't done much.

Meh, that’s one opinion. I personally think her “Likeability“ issue was created by white men who were afraid of her. It’s the primary reason she lost in 2016 I believe.

How exactly irritating is a documentary series with an agenda to feature women like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Helen Keller, Maria Von Trapp, Mary Ritter Beard, Harriet Tubman, Edith Windsor, Anne Frank, Ada Lovelace, Marie Curie, Sally Ride, Clara Barton, Eleanor Roosevelt, Malala Yousafzai, and many others?

Don’t watch it you don’t like that “irritating agenda” 🤷‍♂️
