I used it on Samsung Galaxy Note8 before. Not that much effect on battery life, barely noticeable.Unpopular opinion: Majority of folks will most likely turn it off. Battery Lives Matter!

But it eats 2 spaces of the four you only get right now.
Again, making assumptions about people habits and needs... That's not great start for a discussion. What you are saying literally makes no sense in the real world.
Why would someone constantly be tapping the screen? Do they have amnesia? They can’t remember the time from 5 mins ago? When do you need to look at the phone and the phone is not in your hand, or close to it?
I’m not sure I’m the one who doesn’t get it, but hey more power to you, or less battery.
You may not but many do. Give everyone the OPTION just like android does.Always on is a nice to have feature. But you don’t always need the time all the time
This may be some news for you, but always on is not just about time.Always on is a nice to have feature. But you don’t always need the time all the time
Agree. And silent mode indicator 🔕 too, please.Yes yes yes! Bring back the battery percentage! It's about damn time.....
It’s amazing you have to explain a feature to people that has been in existence and widely relied upon by android users for a decade. This may be some news for you, but always on is not just about time.
It shows missed notifications and seems like Apple implementation will show also some additional widgets data as well. If you wear Apple Watch, this may not sound that interesting to you. But if you are one of us, who do not wear watch (and will not wear it in the future), this is actually very useful. You see notifications just by glancing over the phone at any time. No need to interact with it in any way. This helps you to disconnect from the internet and improve your digital wellbeing. (It's always great to live more offline than to be slave of your phone - so many people addicted to their phones nowadays)
Never said more secure. Just saying USB is trash. Advocating for more USB seems ... unproductive. So you don’t like USB-C because it has a greater chance of failure, and you think lightning is more secure, is that right?
Wtf are you talking about?Never said more secure. Just saying USB is trash. Advocating for more USB seems ... unproductive.
Okay secure is the wrong word. You believe lightning has less chance of failure than USB?Never said more secure. Just saying USB is trash. Advocating for more USB seems ... unproductive.
So what should we use? A new standard?Never said more secure. Just saying USB is trash. Advocating for more USB seems ... unproductive.
Lightning is the connector and USB is the protocol... to begin with.So what should we use? A new standard?
Lightning Is just as bad as standard usb.
Sadly, I've had even my MacBook Air die when trying to copy large amounts of files to a usb disk. Around 10GB or so it craps out. Even a recent usb disk with the usb2/usb3 connector option, so not some lame usb 1.1 device. Always had issues with USB when using it for something "real", other than a 5v lightbulb. Small sticks and small files usually are ok. Big storage disks? Nah. My black MacBook did the same, and my Linux hairs before that, and Windows PC before that. Every one of 'em. Always unreliable, USB is. Always something.Lightning is the connector and USB is the protocol... to begin with.
So you (he) can't even compare these two, because it makes no sense.
Also - is USB really that bad for the end user? I mean, when did you experience any actual issues with using USB devices? Surely I remember some restarts and BSODs in the early days of USB on Windows, but can't remember any issues in the last decade or so (at least no issues on my MacBooks).
you can choose what device is shown on the lockscreen battery widget by tapping on it and disabling the automatic mode.I believe that widget changes depending on what you have connect via Bluetooth, so it's not always going to show your phone's battery percentage.
This literally has zero to do with usb. You are clueless.Sadly, I've had even my MacBook Air die when trying to copy large amounts of files to a usb disk. Around 10GB or so it craps out. Too bad FireWire never had a fair chance, but no one wanted to pay for good stuff (world is too cheap and average folk don't understand it anyway). VHS vs. Betamax again 😁
USB is what we got, tho. Well.. I don't. Y'all enjoy it tho. My tears won't be added to that pot (anymore).
The same sensor that keeps the screen off when you are on a call will keep it off in a flip cover and/or your pocket. Or when the phone is laying on the desk screen down, which is how I like to keep it because there's rarely any reason to check my notifications more than once per hour, especially when I'm working.I hope this is optional. I really don’t want my display to be on when I’m not using it. Besides this, I keep my phone in a flip-cover case, so it would be pointless to have it anyway.
Have these people ever even seen an android device? How are ppl this clueless? The same sensor that keeps the screen off when you are on a call will keep it off in a flip cover and/or your pocket. Notification privacy also won't be an issue
as previews won't show until the device is unlocked with FaceID.
