You can also just use the elite edition bundle on the main hitman page.

Looks like in the time between our two posts, Valve updated the page. It was showing two separate purchases for the Elite DLC and the main game. LOL

Expect some money to be coming your way soon! :D

The icon has been updated now to correctly state SteamPlay. Also a few users who had download access issue a these have all been fixed.

Enjoy everyone.

My Hitman Absolution download is now working flawlessly; thanks for fixing it!

However my Sniper Challenge game still won't download; I've already unlocked everything and sunk many many hours into it so I probably won't be playing it again but I figure it a worthwhile mention. It doesn't appear under Account Details... presumably as it was originally a preorder exclusive bonus [part of the game essentially].

Shooting Issue

Hi all,

I have installed the game off Steam but I seem to have an issue with the mouse where I can't shoot in the Sniper Challenge when zoomed. Pressing the left mouse button simply takes to zoom away and does nothing, no shot. I have noticed the same with focused targeting in the main game where I use instinct and cannot "mark" targets.

Did anyone else had that issue at all? Wondering if it could be mouse / keyboard mapping, I am using Logitech G100s and never had this issue before.

Thanks everyone.

Hitman: Absolution - Mac Gameplay

Here's a quick video of how Hitman: Absolution runs on my 15" Retina MacBook Pro natively in OS X!

Really great work from the team at Feral Interactive and another win for Mac Gamers!

The game is loads of fun and definitely worth picking up should you meet the system requirements! :apple:

Hey Insane79!

I may have to reword the above, I'll have to come back to you on the resolution that I'm playing at but in terms of the graphics settings I've got them set to medium.

So far I haven't noticed any FPS lag even when using screen capture software in built up areas as you can see in the video! :)

nice, does this game also have a benchmark option like tomb raider?

Thanks..

Already found one bug. A tiny one, but annoying. You can map the same key to multiple functions without the previous function being automatically erased (as in Deus Ex: Human Revolution) or having a dialog box pop up warning you that the key already has been assigned. It's easy enough to work around, but still. I haven't come across a situation like this since probably the late 90s, early 2000s.

The mapping rules are the same as the PC, I can only guess 47 likes the ability to do two things at once sometimes. ;)

I will have another look but usually when we don't change the Mac compared to the PC it means the original code didn't lend itself to being altered without extended redesign work. Given the nature of this bug I suspect this was the case but I'll have a look.

In the support e-mail I sent last night, I said it probably was an issue with the original PC code and not anything you (the collective you/Feral) had done. However, if you had some open channel to talk to Io and/or Square Enix, it would probably mean more rather than a lowly user of the product.

I doubt anything will get done, but again, it's largely out of your control. Just thought I'd bring it up on the off chance there would be a simple fix that could be patched.

Can't download the Sniper Challenge Mac version

Sniper Challenge for Mac will also not download for me. Since it wasn't happening, I tried to install the PC version on my Bootcamp partition, and that went fine.

I purchased on Steam during a special, in anticipation of Feral's Mac version, and didn't install on any platform so that hopefully the Mac developers got cut in with some of the money. The store transaction was for Hitman Absolution, Hitman Absolution DLC Collection. The main Hitman game and DLC elements of weapons and suits were successfully installed on my iMac, but Sniper Challenge is the 'missing executable' fail.

OK

Nope, if you buy the game on the PC before the Mac version is released you are giving all the proceeds to the PC developers and the Mac developers don't get anything. The sharing of revenue only happens if both platforms exist when you make the purchase AND you buy the game through Steam direct.

Buying on Steam when only one platform is visible or via third party stores (unless the key is specifically labeled as Mac) will mark the sale as Windows.

The store transaction was for Hitman Absolution, Hitman Absolution DLC Collection.

What does it say in your "Account" list in the top right of the Steam client window?

The main Hitman game and DLC elements of weapons and suits were successfully installed on my iMac, but Sniper Challenge is the 'missing executable' fail.

OK, As you bought the Windows only version of the game your package has not been given the Mac permissions on the Mac launch. I will have a look into it once I hear back with the exact package spellings in your account. Your Steam account name would also be useful. Free free to send these via a PM.

Can I PM you about an unrelated issue? Not quite sure it warrants a formal support request.

edwin,
does this game have a benchmark option to see the fps performance in the option menu like how tomb raider has?

Thanks..

fantastic, its good to see the performance we get when we play with the settings :D

:O Until you run in and die a little inside! DAMN! This game's benchmark hurts my system more than crisis in windows, or Tombraider maxed on the mac does.

The benchmark is unlike the actual levels you play, it's designed to massively stress your system using the most complex area of the game from high camera angles and maximum crowd numbers, increasing the draw distance and poly count well in excess of anything the actual game does.

General rule of thumb I found on my Mac during testing is the game usually runs most levels at over double the fps of the benchmark! That said Hitman is the most complex engine we have ported so far to the Mac and has a higher poly count and complexity than Tomb Raider.

Is this also for the tomb raider benchmark feature? i use the settings that give me min 30fps in the tomb raider benchmark option so that should be good enough for the entire game then?

Thanks..

It's been a long time since a game has drawn me in like this. Love the story, love the graphics.

Magnificent job by Feral.

The Tomb Raider benchmark is a tricky one as it runs faster in LegacyGL mode for many cards but Legacy mode runs slower when in complex areas like Shanty town. Legacy GL is faster on simple areas but much slower on complex ones. CoreGL is not quite as fast as LegacyGL but it doesn't have large frame rate drops when the scene gets complex.

I would say Tomb Raider benchmark is closer to the in game experience although I usually find the in game experience feels a little smoother and usually a little higher than the benchmark. If you get 30fps on the benchmark the entire game will definitely play great.

Personally benchmarks are great for testing relative performance of different OS's or hardware but they are never usually a reliable feature to judge in game experience as that is more subjective and benchmarks usually don't match gameplay exactly. They are a useful tool especially when testing new OS updates or patches to see if improvements have been made as often it hard to tell minor improvements by eye.

Thanks, glad you're enjoying the game, I had a lot of fun on Sniper Challenge racking up the biggest scores I could :)

Thanks for that, I was almost ready to tear up watching my Mac Pro suffer during it hahaha.
