I kind of find her interesting. I do wish somebody would interview her as a person, not the persona, because she has an interesting back story and I just don’t buy all the glitz.

I don’t like all of her music, but I do give her props for her vocal ability. There just aren’t many alive that can sing like her (especially the 90’s version).

It was more a reference to his automatic verbal tic at keynotes...
I think the phrase is “really excited”, not “couldn’t be more excited” but I gotcha now 🙂

I actually thought you were referencing Apple-hate crowd Talking Point #437, that Tim is star struck and celeb-crazed and Apple TV+ is just a way for him to hang out with celebrities lol.

"All I Want For Christmas Is You" is from 26 years ago, as good as it is. You would think there would be something more contemporary by now. People have differing perspectives, but 26 years have passed. Or is the age of music not as relevant today?

Mariah is a legend, I have all her CDs from the 90s. Her body of work puts her up there with the best. On top of that, she doesn't many albums with fillers. Really a great singer.

the 25th anniversary of Carey's iconic holiday hit "All I Want for Christmas is You."
Remains the most recent song to become a Christmas standard - - when will someone finally step up and write the next one?

No, it ain't Christmas without Burl Ives and Johnny Mathis
Okay, okay, we get it - - you prefer sausage stuffing in your turkey - - not that there's anything wrong with that.

Here's a diva-less interview about Mariah as a songwriter (she and Walter Afanasieff wrote most of her 90s' material - she is NOT just a voice, far from it) :
You know, just ask her interesting questions about music instead of dumb ones about Jennifer Lopez and you won't get the diva crap.

Personally I absolutely love her MTV unplugged or her Madison Square Garden live. Her Vanishing rehearsal "somebody is doing the wrong note !" is brillant. And she can be credited as being an innovator that helped shape how the late 90s and early 2000s sounded when she started crossing hip hop with pop and R&B.

Let's hope that this Apple TV Christmas special won't be a Mariah dressed in a tasteless sequin bodysuit tribute but rather the occasion to present new upcoming artists with Mariah as the grand priestess of Christmas in the background.

Do you know what I care less about? The majority of people’s non constructive posts on the thread.

Meh... Alright. But think I'll hold out for the U2 Christmas album that will likely be given to all iTunes users next month, as our 'One More Thing'. :-/

Personally I prefer Elvis, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra for my Christmas songs needs.

Andy Williams, man. He was a bit before my time, but still... my absolute favorite Christmas album is one by Andy Williams and his brothers (the Williams Brothers).

I'm not otherwise a huge fan of that style of music; but his voice is perfect for Christmas.
