One thing that I noticed when setting up my iPhone 5 from an iCloud backup was that all of the apps were downloading and installing simultaneously. Before, if I recall correctly, the apps would have to be installed one by one but with the iPhone 5, all of the apps were being installed all at once and at a really fast rate.

Not really something I'll be doing on a day to day basis but impressive nonetheless.

I don't think that's new with the iPhone 5 or iOS 6. I'm pretty sure on my iPhone 4S with iOS 5 it was the same. I believe that feature was introduced a while back.

It doesn't feel faster than the iPad 3...it IS faster than the iPad 3. Going by Geekbench scores, we're looking at roughly double the speed of the iPad 3.

Ah yes, I sometimes forget that the iPad 3 just has an A5X, with the only boost in power being the graphics (mostly to deal with the Retina display).

My excitement has gone off the scale.

I'm updating from a 3GS and I can't wait. I was excited to be told AT&T will bump your upgrade to the first of the same month so ill get it earlier than I thought!

wow 3GS to the 5. your going to be thrilled with the difference!!

Upgraded from the 4, and boy is it stupid fast. I often surf a forum site with a lot of pictures (clean ones, believe it or not! :D), and even on the same wifi connection, it loads the pages SOOOOOO much quicker, it's incredible. I never thought it would make this much of a difference. Then on LTE it really screams. :apple:

upgraded from 4 and sometimes i have a hard time comprehending the awesomeness of this device. i frequently google "iphone 5 godlike"

I upgraded from a painfully slow iPhone 4. The 5 is really fast, but the data/apps aren't loading as fast as I initially thought. I didn't add many apps yet.
When I open Twitter or Facebook, it takes a little long. I am worried how slow it will be when I add apss and photos. Should I be concerned?

- iPhoto doesnt take forever to populate the photo library at launch anymore

Dislike:
- iMovie is STILL disappointingly slow. (WHY!?!?!)

- The camera app seems to destroy battery life more than usual. I went out to the park with my daughters and after about 7min of footage, 20 pictures and 2 panoramas then I was down to about 60% battery life and the phone was pretty warm.

Like some of the others, I came from a 4. I fully agree that this phone is ridiculous. I never realized how slow my last iPhone was until I used this.

I just upgraded from my trusty old 3GS... Speed is incredible! Sharpness of text is amazing (not new for iPhone, but it is for me)!

I am sorry, but if that is how this phone performs with the camera thats un acceptable. so les than ten minutes burned 40% of the battery. so you cant even record thrity minutes of video, then you will have to plug in for hours to get power back, lol thats just sad.:(

For me, I could notice the difference between a 4S and 5. Add the difference in 3G to LTE and it makes for a very smooth experience. Boo to the naysayers.

As an ex-iPhone 4 user who also reckons his Jail Break slowed the phone down a bit...

I love how fast my iPhone 5 is :D

Panorama is processor intensive.

Haven't really noticed too much in typical use other than opening and closing apps. One thing that stands out like crazy though are games. I've been playing Jurassic Park Builder and on my 4S when moving around the park it would lag slightly, now with the 5 it is beyond fluid and practically perfect.

Might just be the placebo effect, but emails seem to send faster..

Either way, I am very satisfied :D

I did a video recording battery test over the weekend. It uses 20% for every 30 minutes of recording. But this was with the screen dimmed to the lowest setting.

Also there doesn't appear to be a max video size limit like the iPhone 4 (unsure if the same for the 4s) I left a video recording for several hours. Once it reaches a 59:59, it rolls back over to 00:00 but continues with the same file. File is 7GB per hour.

I've been really hating my ipad 3 since getting the iPhone 5, it sincerely is much slower.

I mean, really. Really fast. You can sense it in app launching and such, but it wasn't until I loaded Hipstamatic that I really felt the speed. On a lens/film combo that I used often on the 4S, I can say that on the 4S it would take about 7-8 seconds per shot. On the 5? About 1 second. No joke. Crazy fast.

Yep. You can actually take around 10 pictures within 3-4 seconds if you can press the button fast enough.
