I am happy for you. She is a keeper and congratulations. It's nice to hear these great stories of superb girlfriends who go above and beyond their duties.

Helps restore my faith back in women. :)

You my friend are a lucky man
wish my gf was like that
this story seems too good to be true for some strange reason but marry her give her a nice ring in return its the least you can do :D

(The apple god (steve jobs) preformes miracles) lol

Yeah she knows Im a Mac and Subaru nerd :)

*High five*

After driving my Impreza (with economical engine but fitted with STi suspensions), I won't settle for any other car. Perhaps an M3 or a GT-R...but those are all like 3-4 times the price. It's like the Apple of cars, minus being overpriced.

Lucky guy! Like another person has said, it's nice to see a girlfriend thinking outside the box. My wife offered to pay for my first ever Mac, but I could not take her hard-earned money. So, I never let her know which one I was getting :D

Your situation is different, she seemed to know the one you wanted, and got it without you knowing she was getting it for you.

Anyway, I wish both of you the best of luck.

Yeah, I had been researching laptops for a long time (even PC laptops *gasp* :) ) and every once in a while she would ask me questions about why I didnt want this or that one. Then about 2 weeks ago we went to the Apple store to check out the 3G iphone and I started playing with the MacBooks - Now looking back this is where she got the info out of me, she asked why the black book cost more, etc. I was only testing out the white one and she asked, "Wouldnt the white get dirty?" I said, "Well not really, it would be really easy to wipe down every once in a while, plus the blackbook is a fingerprint magnet isnt worth the extra cost." I think that gave her the go ahead.

I love my 13" screen, the keyboard is awesome and its pretty damn fast! I cant wait to do some video projects on it - Im wondering how much faster it will render video compared to my G5.

Also, thanks to everyone for the good wishes and compliments. She read the thread appreciates it as well, she said everyone here is pretty nice.

Nice, a fellow subie owner. I'm on my third Subaru - they are good cars. First one was a hand me down 1984 wagon GL, next was a 2002 wrx wagon that I heavily modified (exhaust, suspension, turbo). I ended up selling the wagon last year and picked up a used 2004 STi and I got a few mods, exhaust, springs and tune - Lovin' it!

Awww... Your iBirthday thrashed mine!

Then again, I did get a iPhone cake! And Apple t-shirts! Did you? :p

I bought my girlfriend a MacBook

I love this thread, no whinging and genuinely nice comments. I hope all three of you are happy together.

Just thought I'd add that to sort out my girlfriend's broadband issues I bought her a MacBook last Saturday.

She loves it.

She even told the somewhat dazed saleswoman 'I'm a Mac devotee'. This was based on her G3 iBook experience.

(The saleswoman was somewhat dazed as the transaction took about four minutes – 'Can I swap you money for that MacBook,' was my initial request. 'Eh, yes, of course,' she replied.)

And I'm still using my G4 iBook. (iMac 3.06 is now in Prague!).

Anyone else got any happy 'I bought' stories?

A

Hey dude,

Thats awesome, I know its very late now but happy birthday for then!

Glad your happy with your new gifts, 5 years of a relationship is cool, I have been with my gf 3 years and she bought my macbook for me as a christmas present.

Enjoy life my friend, I would say go ahead and marry her, at least ur gf doesnt roll her eyes when you get excited about an apple product...tho my gf did stand in line with me or the iPhone.

She seems lovely and beautiful, as many others have sed, head on and marry her there :)

All the best you two!

Chris
