It will take time to determine hksv battery life. Right now, you can do both or just eufy. Both takes quite a bit more power.

Once we can do just hksv, it’ll take some time and then we’ll be able to tell.

Unfortunately, I believe the eufycam 2 doesn’t support the required full duplex audio to ever support 2 way audio in HomeKit.

I've had terrible experiences with eufy, and would not recommend their products to anyone. I couldn't connect their Indoor Cam 2K Pan and Tilt to Homekit, even though they said it was supported. Since I couldn't store recordings in iCloud, I was forced to try recording to eufy's cloud service. I just learned that there is no way to backup or download the recordings from their cloud. The only option is to use the phone app and save recordings, one at a time, onto the phone. That means saving thousands of files (max recording time is 5 minutes), one at a time.

eufy offers grossly inefficient technology, combined with terrible customer support. I caution against anyone buying eufy products. YMMV.

I have their eufycam2 and indoorcam 2k (non pan/tilt) in HomeKit using HKSV.

I DO highly recommend their IndoorCam 2k non pan/tilt in HKSV. It works quite well and hits a great price point for good quality video and overall product. It’s quite stable for me since they’ve gotten past their initial buggy HomeKit releases. It reacts quickly and catches everything well.

I DO NOT recommend the eufycam 2 series for HomeKit Secure Video use. Or any battery powered camera in HKSV. The eufycam 2 system works well because it can manage the battery drain on camera, and HKSV necessarily bypasses this. It’s slow to react because it takes time to power up before it can start to record. It’s really only a decent solution for places where you simply can’t run AC power.

Fortunately, I have very low-traffic areas where even with HKSV, I can get 4-6 months battery life out of the eufycam 2 - no false positives, 0-4 clips per day. But it still misses the start of every event. It seems to be reasonably linear math, so if you double the activity, you basically halve the battery life, in case that helps.

I don’t recommend the eufy cloud for either camera. And I’m neutral on the built in storage. I don’t use it, but i have higher security requirements than most.

They have a Mac desktop app for batch download.
