I had the chance to play with one in store and at someone's home. I wasn't terribly impressed with sound quality either. I guess with certain genres it can sound excellent, but for others... eh. I'm sure the Home Pod 2 will be better. Though the breakdown/teardown of the Home Pod isn't without merit.

I don't have one, for a couple of reasons:
1) They're not available. As they haven't been much of a success, Apple hasn't even started selling them here in Norway.
2) Lack of eco system. It only supports single account Apple Music, plus Airplay. Airplay is nice, but it's not a substitute for
local apps for other sound services (audiobook services, other mainstream music services, music services for things Apple Music does poorly (e.g. Idagio for classical music), etc)
3) Lack of options. I have a Sonos soundbar in one room, and some Play One/Play 5s in other rooms - even a Sonos Connect connect to my "real" sound system.
If they add an App Store for it and improve Siri, they'll be a much more attractive option.

So its basically made for a single Person houshold. Me and my wife can not use it together.
See, that is something that aggravates me about Apple, they always leave that 1 key feature out. We will never know when they will add these features. Sometimes, they promise to add the feature but does not deliver on time or it doesn't work that well.
Not having an EQ is showing how Apple sees this. I mean come on what high end or even low end no name sound system has no options to set the EQ for your music style and listening preferences?
