That's excatly what I mean. There were rumors about a all new glass design for the iPhone 7s. I just don't see that. If that should happen it will be as I said before where the design of the iPhone 8 will be used with different materials. It makes sense if you think about it:

They will use the experience they gathered with the jet black iPhone 7 to produce the aluminium band, so that there will be a seemless design. They use the knowledge of the ceramic Apple Watch Edition for their iPhone Edition and so on. And that would also "satisfy" all reports out there. There were reports of ceramic, then stainless steel, then glass and so on.

BUT there might also be the possiblity you mentioned: that the hole in the back is used for inductive charging. If you look at the pictures closely you can see that the hole is quite big. Bigger than the front facing Touch ID nowadays. So that could then be the new iPhone SE with that indicutive charging hole and the body of the iPhone 7.

I think we can come up with theories all day long, unfortunately we will just have to wait and see for ourselfs at the Keynote.

I still think that there are 3 models releasing this year, 7s, 7Plus and the iPhone 8/Pro/Edition, the only thing I'm not sure on is the name. I do think it's going to be a bezeless design as is rumoured for a while now, no home button, OLED screen and so on but not for the 7s and 7s Plus I think all of this will be on the 8/Pro/Edition. The 7s will be for those who don't want to or can't afford the price of the 8/Pro/Edition which is rumoured to cost $1,200

Well, but here is the problem: you then have a new phone that looks like sh*t next to the edition phone. That would be horrible. Even Apple's great marketing would not be able to spin this one around in favor for the iphone 7s. Imagine this; All ads, everything will be iPhone "8" and the only thing you can afford is a old iPhone with a new SoC and maybe a better camera but not much more. Apple customers would be very pissed.

Wasn't there rumors that the 7s was going to get a glass back and wireless charging as well? I swear I remember one of these leakers on twitter claiming to show these parts in photos taken at a factory in china. Maybe just more fakes? Has Kuo said anything about this rumor?

I agree with this. I'm by no means a marketing expert, but it's hard for me to wrap my head around how Apple would pull this off.

I think all these conflicting leaks (leading to the notion of multiple 2017 iPhones) are just prototypes that Apple played around with before settling on the final design. It would explain a lot of the confusion pertaining to features and design elements, such as Touch ID.

I agree. And I also think that some leaks were maybe just old design ideas thrown around. I can't imagine apple not producing a lot of prototypes, as you mentioned.

I reeeeally hope that the iPhone 7s is not coming, and if it is coming it will be advertised as the iPhone SE and that the new designed iPhone will be similarly priced as the iPhone 7.

What if this "accidental" release was no accident and everything was placed in there for this reason? #SleightOfCode

I would think that there will be a redesign of the lower end phones. But with a similar design to the iPhone 8. The construction of the iPhone 7 does not allow Apple to just change to glass. The structural integrity of the device would suffer and I am not even sure if it would be possible with the current design. And if they have to change the design I don't see them calling it 7s.

Not if it gets some changes, it doesn't have to to have all the features of the 8, Apple won't just release an iPhone costing $1,200 as it would price some people out, I'm lucky enough to be able to afford the 8/Pro/Edition but those who are not would be very annoyed.

I think you're correct, but what if, instead, the models were sold as "iPhone 7s", "iPhone 7s+", and "iPhone 7 Edition"? That could solve the versioning issue.

That sounds good, and if the Edition has the Ceramic like the Apple Watch Edition I would be very happy :) also I don't mind the names Edition or the Pro, both make sense.

If the front camera is 4k, then the rear camera will have a physical zoom, because otherwise it wouldn't need to protrude either. o_O

Or the rear camera just has bigger lenses and better resolution.. Hmm, that's more likely.

The answer is pretty simple. Apple will release 7s and 7s+ models alongside the new 8 design and note that the 7s's will offer further improvements to the 7 at a lower price point than the 8, in the same way they brought back the 5 with the 5SE model.

People are still buying iPhone 7s though..

There may be a "pause", but Apple will make up for that slight dip *hopefully* with whatever new model(s) come out. And I mean it happens every year when there are rumors of a new phone. This is slightly different being that it's the 10 year anniversary.

In business, the rule is you want the consumer's money now. Not later.

Consumers always have the opportunity to buy an iPhone 7 and then the OLED iPhone later. Apple selling two phones is better than selling one or losing completely to Samsung.

It makes zero sense for Apple to leak info or spread hype about future iPhones.

That's true.

More so than being able to do a little slo-mo in 4K with 60fps, I would like for 1080 120/240fps with a quality boost from where its at now. I love 240FPS but the quality is like a 2007 camera, LOL

It surprises me, that nearly 1 month before the Keynote there are absolutly no detailed rumors about the 7S!
Been saying this for a month now! I've been starting to wonder if it's actually real.
[doublepost=1501868400][/doublepost]We went from having no iPhone 8 leaks at all, to the entire phone being leaked in an instant. Someone at Apple really screwed up. This might be the worst leak from Apple since the iPhone 4 fiasco. Kind of depressing actually, they did a really good job of keeping everything a secret for once.

Given the 2017 LCD iPhones are expected to have minor changes including A11 and perhaps wireless charging, there's not a whole lot of stuff to leak.

Finally iPhone 8 camera improvements are rumoured/leaking. Was worried we wouldn't be getting much of an improvement over the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. 4K 60fps will be amazing but goodbye storage space o_O

To recap the improvements for the camera's: Lasers for faster autofocus and better AR, 4K 60fps for both cameras, anything else as of yet?

They are going to a new video format which will save space as well.

I just don't get it why we should stick with the 7? I mean an all new design but still stick with the name that is associated with the iPhone 6 design? I think they should drop the 7 all together. No 7s, no 7 Edition. Drop the 7, show that Apple has moved on and opening a new chapter.

I'm not saying stick with the 7 number, they could call it the iPhone "Pro" iPhone "Edition" but they will still have to have a name of the 4.7" and the 5.5" iPhone that launch alongside the new OLED one and so they will probably call those the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus since they keep the 7 design.

One question: Can someone please explain to me how we still get wound up with the LCD version when Apple presumably ordered 70 Mio. OLED Displays for 2017 alone? I mean how many devices do they expect to ship? Is 70 Mio. not the normal volume for Q1? In Q1 2016 they sold 74 Mio. Devices. So how could there possibly be a LCD version that is not the old iPhone 7 or the iPhone SE?

Sorry Dave! I quoted the wrong post :( I meant to reply to another post.

My question now is, what do you imagine the wireless charging accessories will look like? A mat where the phone will rest? Or some kind of stand? What would be really great if you could include it in the stand of the imac. I know it's not possible because of the aluminium but still, it would be great. What do you guys think?

Where do you all have this iPhone 7s stuff from? There are litterally no leaks indicating anything. There is this screen resultion that was found in the homepod but there isn't anything else to work with. And one question remains: What would a iphone 7s look like? Will they stay with the A10 chip? Or will the iPhone 7s and the 8 have the same specs internally but just a different design? There is not much room for two high end phones for Apple, unless the design will be the only difference. I don't see them putting an A11 in one phone and not the other. And dumping Touch ID on one phone but still having it on the other phone, both being released at the same time? Seems a bit messy to me.

It's not rocket science. Now all the 16gb chips are gone in the warehouse, all iphones will start from 32. Why do you think iphone SE starts from 32 now? Because they finally sold all the 16gbs chips. Not because apple and tim cook care about you. If they keep releasing iphone se, 6 and 6s from 16, and iphone 7 with 32, there will be a lot of stocks in the warehouse.
