HomePod mini and Apple TV inventory is starting to dwindle at select Apple Store locations around the world, suggesting that new models may be imminent.

For example, the HomePod mini is completely out of stock in all five color options at Apple's flagship Regent Street store in London, as of this writing.

Some other HomePod mini and Apple TV configurations are out of stock at some Apple Store locations, but online availability is faring better for now.

Both the HomePod mini and Apple TV are expected to be updated this year, and the following new features and changes have been rumored for the devices:In his Power On newsletter last weekend, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said Apple planned to announce new products "this week." However, in a follow-up post on X, he merely said the products would be announced "as early as this week."

My gut says no on the camera. Interesting in concept, and maybe they experimented with it, but there are just way too many situations where it would be awkwardly positioned and kind of silly.

Edit: Thinking about it more. I still think probably not, but considering their Center Stage feature, I guess it really only needs to just be facing forward, and not literally buried in a cabinet, and the software can make the image... reasonable. So, maybe? But almost certainly not in ALL models, if they do do it.

So would faster processors/better wifi make any noticeable bumps in streaming quality? Or would it just mean faster navigation between apps?

Perfect timing as TWO of my four HomePod Minis are getting the "phantom touch" issue and Apple couldn't do anything other than do a factory reset on them. But now I'm questioning buying anymore since 50% of my HomePod Minis have failed for no apparent reason.

Apple intelligence plus better GPU for Apple Arcade.

Faster WiFi if your network supports that.

I won’t be upgrading from my Apple TV 4K 3rd Gen 128GB that I got for $99.99 (smoking deal) from Costco last December.

After all the issues I’ve had with my HomePod fleet over the years (one went dead for two years, endless WiFi issues, firmware issues, on and on) I’ll never buy another HomePod. Apple TV would have to be a serious upgrade and not just a spec bump for me to consider it.

I was planning on getting 2 of the new homepod minis but after one of my homepods had the phantom touch issue (resolved by using both only as speakers) I decided to invest in 2 beats pills instead.

I'm not in desperate need on Siri when i shower.

Did you mean, “Current Inventory quantities are dwindling?”

Leave the stock alone.

Wow, it's really telling that the HomePod Mini is sold out at Apple's flagship Regent Street store in London. That one store totally represents the entire market. Sweet! Time to buy some more Apple stock!!

I keep hoping Apple will allow using a HomePod mini pair for rear surround sound on Apple TV when using HomePods as the Apple TV default output.
Amazon is doing that only with the new versions of there equivalent speakers. Do you really want to buy two new HomePods and then an addition two new HomePod mini for this function? One can probably get a better wireless sound system for a cheaper price.

We’ve had 2 HomePod minis for almost 3 years in our garden room ,they sound great as stereo pair with only the unpredictable whims of Siri bothering us now and then . Replacing them is not on the horizon yet but will be interested to see what the next iteration brings .
