All I want is Apple to allow people to create Video Playlists of Favorite movies. I'm not really sure why this has never been an option. Searching by Genre is hit or miss sometimes, so it would be nice to create playlists for my Favorite Action, Comedy, Halloween, Christmas, Drama, etc....Make it happen Apple!

The S9 chip, rumored for the HomePod mini 2, is identical to the S10 chip found in the Series 10 or newer Apple Watches. So Apple will call it S10.

I’m uncertain about it supporting next year’s version of Siri with Apple Intelligence, considering it has only 1GB of RAM, 2 efficiency cores from the A16 chip, and 4 neural cores.

That’s the only thing I’m still unsure about with this rumour. I wonder if this is where Private Cloud Compute will come into play?

But then if it’s as easy as that to add Apple Intelligence to a fairly underpowered chip compared to say an A18, why wasn’t it backported to older devices or able to run on the current Watches?

Can we please get Homepods with PoE???

Thaaaanks
Yes please, I put ethernet everywhere. I have even built my own Matter Pool controller connected via ethernet and I have started work on the dish washer, but Apple have not done any POE products in the past. I am hoping that will change with the rumoured doorbell and camera.

I mean if the damn thing is gonna have a cable coming out of it and require networking:

a. let me unplug the damn cable

b. the cable should be able to provide networking

May as well make the AppleTV PoE while they're at it.

Amazon is doing that only with the new versions of there equivalent speakers. Do you really want to buy two new HomePods and then an addition two new HomePod mini for this function? One can probably get a better wireless sound system for a cheaper price.
I already have HomePods and I’m planning on picking up the 4K Apple TV, so the only additional expense would be the minis.

Think a new TV hardware is coming this week considering that TV+ was just rebranded. As for HomePod mini, there will be some new colors and it will have better audio quality. Hope the colors are bright and not pale.

Do we think this new Apple TV will support Netflix’s HDR10+?
Or finally support the open standard MPEG-DASH codec, which is required for e.g. UHD on BBC iPlayer? Ha.

"Apple TV does not support the standard MPEG-DASH codec used by BBC iPlayer for its higher quality streams, which means you cannot watch Ultra HD (UHD) through the iPlayer app on the device. BBC iPlayer streams on Apple TV are limited to its older HLS format, so you'll only get HD quality. For full UHD support or subtitles, you would need to use a different device or check if your smart TV has its own native iPlayer app."

Edit - seems to be the subset DVB-DASH which is still to be supported by Apple, despite being used across Europe since 2014 and supported by TV sets here

HomePods of both varieties have been missing from the shelves everywhere but Apple stores for the past year in the UK. I had placed notification requests across 3 companies for when they were back in stock. The odd colour shows up for a while and usually it's white.

Apple seem to fail in recognising that espousing an eco-system means having updates and well-performing products in each sector. Do they just lose interest or ideas? Is it because their progress with a HomePod is severely constrained by the state of Siri?

It does seem to be the case that simply having piles of money doesn't get the job done.

Thats just an AppleTV with a speaker. Meh. I vote to keep them separate, if nothing else for cost reasons.
Do people still want Apple TV? Built in software is now so good it doesn’t really have a reason to exist in the future. If it was with a speaker, then I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Are you conflating the app with the box? If one of my ATV boxes breaks then, yeah, I’m gonna need a new box. I want that.
