HomePod... AKA, iPod Hi-Fi v2.0
When I worked at Apple a customer with an iPod Hi-Fi called in with questions about connecting his Hi-Fi to something else. I think a newer device if some kind, I can’t recall. Anyway, I had never heard of it and he didn’t seem surprised about that 😂 but said he absolutely loved it.

Seemed like a cool device and yes, I thought that about HomePod as well… totally a version 2.0.

I would have bought 2 if I could have connected it to my TV showing Live TV. I don't want 2 separate sound systems so I can watch TV. Unless I have missed something.
If you have 2 homepods and the latest apple TV you can set the homepods as the default sound output for all audio from your TV.

I don’t think this works if you have to change input to Antenna. At that point the Apple TV is bypassed by the OTA antenna so how can it control the sound output?

That’s my situation at least and what I think the other person was referring to.

Can you explain the process if this is possible? When I watch OTA TV my Apple TV isn’t even powered on… seems there would need to be a “OTA” app or TV tuner built in to the Apple TV to do this.

If you want one try Simply Mac stores. Their website doesn't list the original HomePod but there are some in their retail stores. The one near me has some.
