HomePod: one step closer to the inevitable Apple TV set?

Personally my money is on a launch at the Fall iPhone event.

Hopefully that happens unless they do it at an October event

I just hope we get a more powerful version with more storage, looking to upgrade form the ATV 3 but have a feeling they could release the 5 this year

I think it's entirely possible that there will be new hardware in the fall (likely to add 4K support, at least), but I use the existing ATV4 every day and have no concerns about its performance. And more storage really isn't necessary - it uses practically all the storage as effectively least-recently-used cache anyway - I've got a lot of apps on mine and it's sitting at 26 of 64 GB used. It doesn't need more storage.

I would like to have a lot of games and with the increase of maximum size to 4GB, I think it'll be worth investing in higher storage for me. I know the AT4 seems to have plenty of power so I don't really have concerns about the performance, although if I'm waiting anyway it'll be nice to get better performance in games.

You're welcome to buy whatever the larger size is, but, again, storage is handled differently on the Apple TV than on other iOS devices - you won't find yourself juggling apps, deleting this to make room to load that - the OS pulls down assets as needed.

I never really see people complaining about space on their ATV 4 and that must be why. I will see what they offer when they refresh it.
