On its way

Good ole UPS, 4:18 am: Due to operating conditions your package may be delayed. Called UPS, said it got left off a truck in Jacksonville, they were sorry but no Saturday delivery to Clearwater it would be rescheduled to Monday!!! What the heck was it doing on a truck in Jacksonville to begin with? Was having it sent to my home today as I am off work, now I have to have Apple try to get it redirected to my office for Monday.

interesting that i ordered one yesterday and its out for delivery today. the date listed was the 13th. ordered directly from apple.

I did the same and it’s just been dispatched an hour ago. Got a est delivery date of Wednesday 14th, but figure it’ll be here on Monday by how fast it’s going right now.

I ordered on Jan 26th (first day it was possible to order) and had been expecting delivery today - just checked UPS website and it's sitting in Seattle stating that "Severe weather conditions have delayed delivery. / Your delivery has been rescheduled for the next business day." Doggone it! I don't know what in the heck they're talking about - there is not any indication of severe weather either here (eastern Washington) or in Seattle, and from what I can tell online the mountain passes are also fine so they should not be having trouble driving from Seattle to my area. The package arrived very early this morning in Seattle and I had been expecting to receive by mid-day today . . .

Very disappointing!!!

My impression is that they stage these products in certain areas of the country, and then release them to UPS the day before delivery is required. It could have been shipped a day sooner and it would have been here yesterday without difficulty, but of course that would not be in accordance with their 'release day delivery' objective.
[doublepost=1518196693][/doublepost]Correction, Update!! UPS is now showing it has arrived at my local UPS point, I'm now back to expecting delivery today! Downside of real-time updates from delivery services - sometimes they aren't right! Whew!!

I ordered the first day too. My HomePod is at the UPS facility 5 miles from my house and I just found this in the tracking:

Scheduled Delivery Updated To:
Monday, 02/12/2018 , By End of Day

No weather, nothing like that. Major bummer. I hope I get an update like Phil. Going to call UPS shortly.

Mine "In transit date tentative" . Finally went to Best Buy, they had stacks of them!! Bought one there, when the one from Apple arrives I may keep it or return it based on my experience the first few days with this one.

I picked up 2 HomePod's at a local Apple Store today after work. I thought about shipping but I feel safer picking it up at the store. Delivery invites risks such as delays, loss, delivery to wrong address, and so on. By picking it up in the store, Apple deals with delivery issues, , and no matter what they have to put a speaker into your hands.

It was a breeze to set them up. I lifted the speaker out of the box, plugged it in, and held held my phone up to each speaker when I powered them on, and pressed the setup button when it appeared. The build quality is top notch. You can tell that a lot of care when into the design and manufacture of these devices.

They sound amazing! I played music on them directly on the speaker, streamed from my phone, streamed from my Apple TV, and streamed from my iMac. They beat the pants off of my more expensive Sonos Play 5 speaker , and easily crushed my 2 Amazon Echo/Echo2 Home speakers. I don't know how such small speakers fill the room with great sound, but they do.

Yes, they are expensive. Yes, they are worth it.
