Im on my second Nissan Altima in less than 6 months. The first one i bought way back in April and from the second i saw it i knew it was gonna be my car. I went into the dealership with my old car and trades it in and used that money as cash for the new one.

Sadly on my way to work about a month later a car makes a illegal left turn and smashes right into me driving me into a big light pole. He totalled my car. But i truthfully didn't sustain any injuries, nothing major at all. Every single back in the car came out, felt like i was in a pillow. After the accident i was amazed at home many bags the car actually had.

Well to make a long story short, after that accident i went ahead and bought the same car. Every single thing the same. It was weird coming back to get another brand new car but the bottom line is i felt like that car saved my life. And honestly after that accident, i didn't want to drive in anything else but a Nissan Altima

The CVT gives it smooth drive. You wont even realize your driving. It handles well. And to be honest it is quite fast. And its not that bad on gas, just be prepared to fill up a 20 gal tank lol which actually comes to about 17 gal but it was still a big jump for me coming from a sentra with a 12 gal tank. Bottom line which ever one you choose you wont be disappointed.

I have been looking into these two cars as well. I was real surprised to see that the tank was 20 gallons.

Another surprise: My current four door car (2001 BMW 330i) is 176" long. The '08 Accord sedan is 194"! That 18" difference will make parking a foot and a half harder to find.:(

194" makes me think about focusing on the coupe models.

Two concerns:
1. It is kind of annoying to have to get into the back seat of a coupe. That may dissuade people from asking me to be the driver when going out, which is nice. But I wonder if there is anything else to keep in mind?

2. CVT. Wiki says "This can provide better fuel economy than other transmissions by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient speeds within a narrow range."
Everything sounds good, but for some reason I am still having some trust issues. I am worried about long term reliability. Maybe I should go for a lease?

I talked to the guys in 2 different nissan service departments and they said that by this generation the CVT is working out wonderfully.
So...
After 2 full days of negotiations (exausted smiley here)...
I ended up getting a fully loaded (without navi :() altima coupe. :D

I am a sucker for bells and whistles and this car has them all.
-Phone calls using bluetooth work great.
-The in dash cd player holds 6 cds that play mp3 format.
-HID headlights & turn signal lights on the side mirrors.
-I can leave the key in my pocket and start the car with the puch button start.

I am really digging this car. Now I just need to tint the windows.

I would have talked you into the navi. I have it on my car and didn't fully comprehend it's value at the time. Now it is like watching TV without Tivo. I have no idea how I lived without it.

I know, I know. I wanted it bad.
-I regularly use the navigation on my phone, but it doesn't work all that well.
-Also, I recently moved to a new city and would use it even more.

But somehow the price worked out so it was just out of reach (Monthly costs would have been about $40 more a month).

So now I am thinking of getting an after market system. You know, Something that will cause my window to be smashed and have my navi stolen.:(
