LOL...ok, let me try again... i have 3 lines.

Iphone 4 for myself
wifes dormant line which is cheaper to leave open then cancel
wifes new iphone 4 line
new phone i orderd and cancelled but was still send two weeks later.

I was going to use the new phone, sell my oriignal phone, transfer sim card over and use new phone due to my friend dropping it on cement which only resulted in a coule small like 2cm scratches on back and scuffs on the side

However if i do that i would be left wiht data plan one original phone, plus wifes data plan and my new data plan....thats what i dont want to do. I ordered the phone ligitamelty to beign wiht, att just sent it anyway so might as well use it.

If i transfer sim card over, can I just remove data plan as dave420 said? I thougth they woudlnt allow you to do that?

Anyway, I hope that helps.. andis more clear. lol

just return the phone..

I don't understand where this extra data plan nonsense is stemming from.

I was under the impression that all service was tied to the SIM card.

Yep, you definitely can. They won't let you remove it if you are still using the iPhone on the line. If you are using another phone they will let you take it off. It will be added back automatically if you start using an iPhone on that line again.

As has already been stated multiple times. Yes. You will be required to pay $9.99+taxes on the additional, un-used line. You will not be required to maintain a data plan on that line.

just spoke to a rep..she said i will have to have a phone on that line to remove data plan...a go phone or anything i just cant leave line with no phone dormant.

Interesting...do you have any old non smartphones laying around? You could buy one then return it after they remove the data plan. Or you could try calling another rep, you can get a different answer everytime in my experience.
