Just got off the phone with Apple and the guy told me that my order was due to ship out with the first wave of shipments even though it gave me the May 13-27 dates. He said those dates were just so that they could under promise and over deliver.

I have a May 13 delivery window and the rep told me that they "hoped" that would be the case, but could not guarantee it by any means.

So, there is hope! But that's all there is. Hope is not a strategy (old sales term).
Hope didn't work much for the POTUS, but maybe Apple will have better luck with their hope. :D

Sorry, write a really long version and safari crashed, lost out and posted the abbreviated version. 3:05am eastern us. 42mm sg black

hoping here as well! Ordered at 2:04 CDT with Apple Pay with the Apple Store app. My brother ordered at the same time and got the 5/24 shipping window. He didn't use Apple Pay but still used the Apple Store app... hmmm... Apple Pay to blame?

I didn't use apple pay, so I don't think that's the case.

I tried to use the website, wasted 4 minutes waiting for that to come online, gave up and used the app and it cost me the shipping date. Was able to apply a gift card on the phone with Apple this morning.

I think this is pretty obvious.

My guess is based on the larger than average lead time between pre-orders and delivery, they will be able to adjust production to meet pre-order demand, barring any particular model production issues (e.g. the black link bracelet was delayed beyond 4/24 before even the first orders, so that's less based on demand and clearly more related to a particular material production issue).

I'm thinking if you got an in order in before 3:15-3:30 AM, you'll get it before 5/1, probably even at launch day

Apple is being cautious as to not ruin expectations with it's first big product launch since the iPad, let alone without Steve Jobs at the helm.

Many iPhone 6 orders arrived earlier than the quoted delivery time from Apple.

yeah, I doubt it's the case...

The App finally went live around 2:03am for me (after force closing and restarting it a lot after 2:00am). The Apple.com website on both my iMac and Macbook Air didn't go live until well after 2:10am. I kept refreshing those constantly even after I placed my order on the app.

That was me as well... if I hadn't seen a couple people on here say they had their orders in while I still couldn't access the store, I would have been refreshing a few more minutes.

if it follows from past launches, the delivery dates are usually worst case. My watch is sched for 4/24-5/8...I'm expecting it to be here 4/24 as per other launches....

With my day one 6+ order, Apple under-promised and over-delivered. Hopefully it happens again because I'm in the May 13-27 timeframe myself.

I was let down a tiny bit when I saw the may delivery dates on my order, so hopefully this is the case for me too!

I ordered mine via the app and received a confirmation email at 3:05AM (Eastern). It gives me the ship date as 4/24-5/8. I hope they're just playing it safe with the later ship date because I had it shipped to my mother's house where I will be visiting on the 24th. On the 25th, I'll be hours away.

Oh, you're f-ed. (joking, nobody knows anything)

Made me think of her…

I got a June delivery date for both that I ordered. If it ships in April I'll consider Apple the best company to ever exist. If it doesn't ship until June I will consider them the worst company in the universe. Just doing my part to be an Apple Fan - this is just how we do it.

Which is a good policy, something successful companies tend to do. Southwest airlines is a classic example.

The unknowns of marketing an unprecedented smartwatch that does things that are unique means that demand is extremely difficult to predict. A watch is subject to personal fashion choices, think about that when you think it is so easy to manage.

I'm not going to get my hopes up. Reminds me of the iPhone 6 pre-order thread where a guy who works at UPS kept assuring us our iPhones were being processed (Import Scan) as soon as they arrived. In reality, it took 2 days before it left the Kentucky hub.

But, thanks for asking for us.

Most 4-6 week orders will ship at launch and most June orders will ship in end of April/early May. Just what I think going off the iPhone 6 launch but I can be wrong.
