Yes, overwhelmingly bad front page ad/content balance. Very poor. I thought it was a bug because I'd just upgraded to High Sierra. Please keep it lean and elegant, not in-your-face brutal.

I don't understand... are you referring to the content of the Ads or the way they are spaced in the page?

Yep, we're looking into where it's coming from. Seems to only be affecting UK visitors as far as we've seen, not that that helps those of you who are seeing it.

Hope this gets sorted for we unfortunate UK Mac Rumors visitors. It's a visually offensive front page – two whacking great sidebar ads (left column and right column, both seemingly bulked up on steroids) for Windows 10 products, plus 'masthead'-style Windows ad at top of page before it eventually disappears (and with an associated awful Twitter-feed style piece of adcrap to further jangle the eyeballs). The two sidebar ads remain there, stubbornly, bullying the life out of the Mac Rumors content. Very dispiriting to see such crass commercial trolling, so badly done. (Badly done? Hey, isn't that why I chose not to use Windows in the first place?)

Okay, after a few days respite those awful sidebar ads (it's all Lenovo now) are back and making Mac Rumors a rather dissatisfying experience.

Why are there PC ads on a Mac forum anyway? That seems to be either trolling or very poor judgment indeed.

Furthermore, it's ugly, really vulgar looking and cheap. So, an all-round FAIL, then.

It's either time for an ad blocker on my Mac (which subverts the Mac Rumors business model of course) if I can find one that I don't fear will steal my info. Or I just become an infrequent visitor to the forum – I don't respond well to crass commercialism.

To be fair, an enormous number of people using Apple products also use PCs.
Yes and they should be banned /s
:p
Meh I am metally blocking out those ads anyway - I am not about to swtich back though Lenovo makes some nice kit I admit.

I am glad the admins look into the worst offenders but also understand that Macrumors needs to make money.

Register on MacRumors! This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
