Im going to take a wild guess that the people who are complaining so much about the new MBPs are those who don't have the budget to purchase one? The new hardware features in the MBP are awesome imo....trackpad, hybrid SLI technology, very cool looking case. Yes the Glossy screen is a downer but enough of a Downer to outweigh the other bonuses the new MBP has to offer?

And about the two products looking the same: Give me a break, people care way too much about distinguishing themselves from those who have the less expensive model...You are paying for whats under the hood, not because it looks different. Not to mention its economically sound for them to have similar production processes for the notebook family.

A big problem is currency around the world is fluctucating so much and really the companies get screwed over until and update/price bump. Then it is the end users who get screwed.

Just yesterday I bought some software from a French company. Before going to check out the conversion went 79 euros = $103.xx US. During check out it went to $107.xx US. The US dollar remained the same, but the euro strengthened.

Sucks, but thats international commerce for you.

No, I wanted to purchase today; that stupid screen totally put me off. It also doesn't help that the prices were put up beyond what should be reasonable in Australia. The LED display is likely shithouse for color critical work. Apple doesn't provide solutions for pro's any more, so why the pro prices?
I guess the new MBP is a good machine...if your a gamer.

And how about having to fork out $150 AUD for the Dual link connector? What the hell kind of mafia business is this? Today's keynote was a total joke. I know it, most other pros know it and everyone in that audience knew it.
