3rd ep is out and I've only watched half of it.
Figured we could go back and watch it from the start soon, and then watch it to the end.
Then also watch it another time before ep4 comes.

It's so much going on in this serie!

Wow, a LOT has happened in just 3 episodes. I would've pegged
Blood and Cheese for a season finale event, not the first episode.
This season has definitely picked up the pace.

OMG, ep 4.....🐉🔥💥

This is totally my favorite serie now. Hope it will be material left for a 3rd season.
But I have seen and heard of plenty of dragon eggs, it's good.

I hope Rhaenyra takes back her thrown soon.

I was a mess after last night’s episode. I don’t care if they’re CG generated, I can’t handle seeing animals hurt or dying.

Eve Best, I knew it was coming but it was so hard to watch. Especially knowing her bond with Meleys. An incredible actress gone too soon.

Can’t believe we only have 4 episodes left.

We know what happens already - the outcome was referred to in the original GoT series.... But yes, I loved episode 4, but felt the loss of one of my favourite characters.

I saw that too, but that was a looong time ago, and as a meditator I don’t keep that trivial sh-t in my head. But internet says she didn’t. So ok, if they don’t renew the House of Dragon I can always rewatch the Games of Thrones. I remember the midget though.

You may know what you know from GoT, but let's not jump the gun here. There's still plenty of material for a few more seasons.

The show has already been renewed for season 3.
I'd like to see a post-GoT sequel - maybe find out what happens to a few the original characters later in life. I usually don't go for fantasy stuff like this but it is close enough to some actual history (not dragons of course) to make it interesting.

Not here to throw any water on the party, but watched all of season 1 and left that feeling lack luster. My wife’s been watching season 2, but it seems gloomy when I walk though the room, just not engaged. Either it’s lacking a dynamic from the original story that pulled me right in, or I’m suffering from GOT fatigue. 😔

That will be SNOW which follows Jon Snow -- I think its supposed to premier later this year but not 100% sure.

People and even dragons grow up - s1 was cute and Rhaenara was a child, and then people started to die, which usally can complicate and mess up things in families, especially when there's power involed.

I don't watch for any cuteness myself, I like the dragons, and the fire and power 🐉🔥

Dialogue scenes seem very much lacking for the most part this time around. With Otto missing most of the season, Viserys dead, Daemon off on a silly little side quest and Mysaria being rather awful all around ;) there's way too many black holes here to suffer through and a lack of interesting character building.

So far this season has been a total miss for me the way its been handled. Did they switch out their writers or run out of source material by any chance?

Why would a creature like that select some puny random they just met though? Has that ever been explained? Someone they can sense dedication in, leadership abilities, warrior-mindset, perhaps years-long training and skill and whatever, who can speak their language, ok.

But e.g. an old drunkard who'll probably have a heart attack up in the sky and combat experience only in bar fights? And take orders from them? Does that make sense at all?

I mean if the riders were picked as snacks-on-the-go I'd understand. Just get a juicy one then and perhaps a second one for the trip back home. ;)

You have to ask the dragons, I think.

I haven't been a dragon rider, but I've been riding horses, and it's like any relationships with people as well. Some you match with directly, some matches takes more time, but may go deeper ones it syncs and some is just a no, it wont work.

Yeah that's what I was going for.

I've not sat on a horse since childhood (with it being led slowly in circles by a minder) and had nothing to do with them since. Wouldn't expect a wild horse to let me even go near it, even less so one that's towering over me, eats human for a living and has the option to flatten me, incinerate me for sport or just bite my top half off to get to the squishy bits.

We now have three dragon riders who have zero training and can't communicate with their beast. Chosen for their musky fragrance I have to assume. Like an air freshener you'd clip to your car's dashboard.

Seems like Jayce is really on to something btw. when he protests that move. You don't give a commoner the means to overthrow you assuming you want to remain Queen? Best case scenario: they don't like combat and just fly off with their new be(a)st friend. Worst case ... they try to take your job or scout out the competition to see who's offering the bigger payday?

I think Jayce’s relation with his Mother is not without difficulties, but he wants that specialness with being a dragon rider alone with his little dragon. So now he's jealous that other's will ride dragons, and larger dragons than him. Poor little guy 🥲

We’ll see what happens with the new dragon riders, what plan the dragons and Rhaenyra have 😉

That was an epic episode. I missed last week's so i got to watch the last 2 back to back

I found Mysaria's tryst with Rhaenyra too predictable and almost banal. But i don't particularly hate either so...whatever.
Daemon's 'visions' a tad too long, but at least it got interesting with Tully's revenge

Best parts for me were the dragons.

Vermithor's design was done proper justice. Even the sound effects were amazing. Dolby Surround made it even more visceral.
Hugh Hammer as a choice kinda makes sense. He's Jaehaerys's offspring, and the only one with enough 'balls' to distract and stare down a rampaging Dragon known to take no prisoners. Thus saving that woman's life.

But Silverwing's choosing method was clearly for comedic effect. "Basically, i'm lonely. Seasmoke and Vermithor always get called. But you personally visited me therefore you'll suffice. Lets have fun" which i can get on board with.

The riders all have reasons to support Rhaenyra because she technically saved them from mediocrity and/or death. Unlike Kingslanding.

However, I expect something terrible will happen to reduce the numbers which currently sits at 7 (Black) v 4 (Green) given the discontent within Jayce and the Dragon keepers

Watched ep. 8 - the final of S.2
Interesting end.

Packed with so much - I will rewatch it soon, as I’ve done with all eps this season.
Well, I rewatched S.1 before S.2 as well.
The ending of S.2 was exciting.
S.3 - look forward to it.

Honestly, I'm disappointed. I hoped for more from a HotD/GoT finale. Solid episode, but the entire back half of the season was essentially all buildup, and now we're forced to wait 2 years for any payoff. 😒

Daemon's vision was really interesting though. Lots of things to unpack there.

A bit of a disappointing finale. Mostly buildup, it also felt a bit rushed

Alicent magically back in the castle after swimming in the lake like nothing happened

Helena suddenly giving main character syndrome

Overall an ok season.

Guess we'll see again in 2026
