Was curious about the Houston area and if there are any lines. I'd like to grab my hand on one but I don't get off work til 5pm.

Just trying to be prepared and see which location I will be attending to after work. For those of you who have any information, please feel free to post it here.

Thanks in advance!

I'm also interested about this. I was thinking of going to target (which will definitely be carrying them, and I can get a 5% discount) but I don't know how many are in stock at Target.

Trying to decide what i'm going to do too. Sugar Land best buy said they don't have many. Apple store said they don't know how many they have, but the line was already 30 people or so.

Wonder what the best bet is.

Are there any target in S-Land? I'm definitely not considering getting on the highways at rush hour so that's why I am only really considering Target right now. Hopefully there will be more in stock on the weekend if I can't get one today.

playing catch up here....... so, Apple Baybrook had a 30 person
line for the i2? I was planning on going there Monday to grab
a 32GB, AT&T 3G model (i still have the unlimited plan).

Is it already sounding like a sellout weekend in the Houston area?

First Colony Mall

Stopped by the apple store in FC mall during lunch (12:15 ish), there were already about 50 people in line (15-20 inside, the rest spilled over outside). After that I went to the First Colony Best Buy, the guy gave me the "limited quantity, but we have some of each model, size, and color". No line at the best buy at that point. I talked to a guy in electronics at Target in Sugar Land (in person) yesterday about their ipad stock and plans for today...he looked at me like he was clueless and said that he didn't know if they were getting any. You might want to take that with a grain of salt though, because I couldn't tell if he was really clueless or just trying to be evasive with answering any inventory questions.

Damn. Sounds like best buy might be the place to go...

I was thinking about visiting either the Apple store at Galleria or Sugar Land after work. I know the apple retail stores always have plenty of stock. Especially the one in the Galleria, since that's their flagship store I believe.

I don't believe all Best Buys will carry the iPad as I've heard only certain locations will. But correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll keep you guys updated if I find out more.

The First Colony Best Buy guy made a comment about their store being one of the few to carry some of all the models, as other stores won't have the 3G versions.

Not sounding good for houston. I wish they would tell you how much stock. I guess it's not good for them if we have the informattion

The guy I spoke with at Memorial City was kind of rude. I asked him if they expect to run out, and he said, "well, that's what we're hoping for"
Galleria guy was super nice. He said that they got plenty of stock in and they hope to have enough.

Good info. Thanks.

Wonder what sugar land best buy/ target look like right. Maybe even walmart.

I just left the Fry's near Sugarland.........will start selling at 5........nobody standing in line!

I wasn't aware that Fry's was selling the iPad 2. It's suppose to be at Walmart, AT&T, Target, Best-Buys and Target only I believe.

Apple store First Colony Mall

I just got an update from a friend in line there. He said there is about 100 or so in line. He sent me the attached pic. The line continues off the right side of the pic into the mall.

I wonder if it would just be smarter to wait until 6-7 and then go. If we're not already waiting, it's probably pointless to go now, right?
