I know that BR isn't yet that common and that the public has not yet really adopted the format... but that day will come. How will then Steve justify that playing BR on mac is just not possible ?

"Bag of hurt."

I think he won't and mac will do as anybody else, they will support BR... so why wait ? I still don't see any good reason to that...

iTunes sells HD movies. Blu-ray is HD movies. Every Blu-ray disk sold is a movie not sold by iTunes. Apple will not support Blu-ray carrying 1080p video because of iTunes. End of story.

The difference of course being that iTunes HD content is crap, whereas BRD is good.

Yes, so it's not OK to let apple get away with it...
I want br playback ! Not itunes crap !

Well that's exactly what I am doing... not buying any video content from Itunes... (I am quite pleased with the audio content though). And not buying a mac for my HTPC needs...

Not much else I can do as you rightfully pointed out. But it does not mean I should be happy about it. If nobody manifest it's needs we can be certain it ain't going to change :)
