Having issues with both the 'Like' and 'Add to' functionality in Apple Music. The buttons seem temperamental in that sometimes they'll uncheck or unlike themselves immediately after doing it. As if the service has rejected the action, odd.

Also, although having Apple Music and iCloud Music Library switched on on my iPhone, the albums I've added to Apple Music on iTunes are not appearing on my iPhone. Or indeed any music i have on iCloud.

I'm having major issues getting things in sync between iPhone/MacBook as well. Everything I do on one device is not updated on the other.

Or, you know, if they wanted a hint at my musical tastes, they could look at the thousands and thousands of songs I already have in iTunes. Instead of starting completely from scratch with the bubbles. I like a bit of what everyone likes, but my favorite stuff is electronic and jazz-related stuff - mostly without vocals (ooh! so weird!). I'll give For You some time to acclimatize, but my hopes aren't high. No recommendation thing I've tried has seemed to have any brains once you stray from the pop-song format, and by that I mean, music that is vocals-centered, chorus-verse, chorus-verse.

EDIT: Ok, I still think they should look at my music I already own, but, I have to say, I'm quite impressed with what they have come up with so far in For You. Like, really impressed, and surprised. My worries about it potentially knowing nothing of music outside standard vocal chorus-verse pop formats were unfounded - hats off, Apple! Kind of stunning, actually. They truly used a human curator to get some of this.

Does anyone know if clicking the heart icon for a song within "my music" in iTunes has any impact on Apple learning my tastes? Not songs that are playing, but songs already in my library.

If so, then I can simply go to all the songs that I have rated as 5 stars, select them all, go to "get info" and heart them all.

But will that send any "tastes" information to Apple?

After one day of use I'm totally amazed at the stupendous quality and variety of music I get recommended.
Apple Music has at the moment a ton of bugs and issues that need to be solved, but the quality of the recommendations I get and radios that I fine tune is simply stunning.
I have an artist radio which is so well crafted around my tastes that out of 10 songs I love and add 5 to my music, like 9 and reject only like one. Amazing.

All country suggestions just got purged. Get out of my library and just focus on what I say I like NOW. My library is just about as old as iTunes itself and it's skewing my present interests in music in the "For You" section. Happy to find this option to not like stuff. The purge continues . . . You're next Nikki Minaj!

"You can essentially heart anything that's playing via Apple Music."

Um, no you can't. At least half the tracks I'm seeing played through Beats are greyed out.

On a wider note I think Apple's messed this feature up in a key way: The heart should fav a tune and add it to your music in one step. I really don't understand why they've made a distinction. I want to be able to add music on the go, such as from my watch or my phone's lock screen.

The For You feature has helped me discover some pretty amazing artists/songs. I'm really digging Apple Music.
Finally someone positive in this thread of whiners!
I'm usually pretty negative about stuff, but c'mon. Yes, there are certain issues with Apple Music, but they are more in "little annoyances" or "it would be nice if..." categories.

What's more important is that with really little time invested I have found a lot of new music that I actually like instead of getting the same songs over and over again in Spotify's radio or very few curated playlists they had there.

Spotify canceled yesterday and I can't see me or my wife returning back to it. My $15/mo will start going to Apple in 3 months while I'm enjoying 3 months of $0/mo. :)

Apple Music in iTunes actually DOES have both the heart and the star. I'm using right now. Although, it seems like you have to be in mini-player mode to see the star feature. Yes, you do, I just checked.

That could be awkward. Don't think I've ever used the mini player view, just usually send iTunes to the back or minimise it out of the way.

Only complaint I have about the liking feature so far is if I'm listening to Beats 1 and "heart" a song, it rarely goes away for the next one, unless it's a song that you can't tap the heart icon on anyways. Is it counting that I've liked this song? Is it just a UI bug? It doesn't do this on the other radio stations, so I'm guessing it's a UI bug. Hopefully this can be fixed, otherwise it's been a great experience on Beats 1 so far.

Yeah, it's really confusing. I don't know whether it's a bug, or if you can only like the station and not individual tracks. I certainly hope it's just a bug they'll fix because I really want that feature to work.

I find that there is nothing in the mini player that isn't available in the full size player.

So, I just added about 20 songs from the artist Yo La Tengo to my library and synced them with Apple Music. Now I get a playlist in my "For You" section called "Introduction to Yo La Tengo.

Um, why do I need an introduction? Clearly I know who they are, I just added a bunch of their music to "My Music."

I know this is probably a privacy issue, but Apple Music could *quickly* learn a lot about my musical tastes if it simply scanned my existing iTunes music collection.... you know, the thousands of songs I've purchased over the years.

Why couldn't Apple have explain this, like this?

Ha ha ha... Reminds me of the WWDC presentation, when it comes to apple music, it was all Chinese to me! Sadly my Chinese friends we also very confused :)

Maybe they rushed it out ? I'm sure it will be quite polished by the end of the trial. While people think it's a free trial for them, I consider it a free trial of the service, where apple will make changes from feedback, so this is a beta for me, the final product will be ready in 3 months.

Apple Music - "Do you like Biffy Clyro, Katherine Jenkins and Whitney Houston?"

Me - "No thank you Apple" delete, delete, delete.

Apple Music - "Do you like Biffy Clyro, Katherine Jenkins and Whitney Houston?"

Me - "Must have done something wrong, could have sworn I clicked no" DELETE DELETE DELETE

Apple Music - "Do you like Biffy Clyro, Katherine Jenkins and Whitney Houston?"

Me - "ARGHHH!" DELETE DELETE DELETE

Apple Music - "Do you like Biffy Clyro, Katherine Jenkins and Whitney Houston?"

Me - *sounds of smashing iPhone*

Sounds like you need to stop listening to Whitney Houston :) or start listening to things.

But what does the share button on the wake screen do when playing music? Sometimes it is active, others it is grayed out. When active it seems to lead to an account page but there is nothing to do on that page. I can't even go back, no back button! have to close Music App to be able to do anything! I just want to know!

Okay, so i legitimately cannot find the heart on the iPad at all. Also, I don't know how everyone else's is running, but the new app runs terrible on my iPad Air 2. Between freezing and crashing, I'm not liking it thus far. I've got the app on two of my iphones and they work great, also iTunes on both Macs and PCs.

None of this seems to be working for me. I have a smart playlist which is meant to show tracks I've loved.

However, no matter what I do I select the Love symbol (Heart) on tracks and they never appear in the smart playlist.

Am I the only one with this issue ? Gotta Say - this whole software experience is terrible.
