Am I the only one experiencing slow load times of macrumors site in my X?

Use a case - and if you have AC+ why worry, it will polish out with a cape cod cloth etc.

I actually thought the space grey had polished SS, sadly it's not so I think I will return and maybe get the silver unit
I’ve always been a case kind of guy. I want it protected but just wondering if there’s any other ways.

My current 6+ is unprotected but I've become enchanted with the new 3M skins that a few places offer. I got one for my laptop that is "bamboo". Just now I pre-ordered a dbrand "Grip". Well see how it goes.

Is there anything you guys are using to protect the edges besides a case? I know the ss will end up scratched like the Apple Watch.

If you are scratching up the stainless the front and back will be scratched, too. Unless you use screen protectors. The stainless can be buffed out just like the stainless Apple Watch.

But I feel like ur hiding the phone if u use those big cases. Like putting a supermodel into a fat suit.

The stainless will get scratched faster compared to the front and back glass counterparts.

I think it will all get scratched. I always use a case if nothing else for the grip. My phone is like a tool and allows me to get out of the office to call,on customers and check on employees. It is a rough and tumble world out here.

Yes. I somewhat agree. That is why I ended with "We'll see..." (except I mistyped it 🙂

I had planned on getting a wrap for my 15" MBP but it is the new grey and I liked it so much I didn't wrap it.

The iPhone X I ordered is "silver". I've not seen it yet so I can't predict if I will want to wrap it nor if I will like the bulk of the "Grip".

I always use the thinnest Spigen Case. I purchased three when ordering my X. I don’t care to carry my iPhone around without minimal protection.

Do you have the black SS watch?

My black SS doesn’t show scratches. I’ve had it since February, never used a case, and it looks brand new. I haven’t put it under a microscope or looked at it closely under bright sunlight...

My first gen SS watch did show scratches very much, though.

The watch is a different finish and colour and it is a tougher one. In other threads someone scratched the space grey phone finish with a key and another with their wedding ring and another with an unexplained chip down to the Silver.

True (though that wedding ring was tungsten carbide - I'd be keeping that away from my Space Black watch!) 🙂
None of us knows how durable the SG PVD coating is yet....time will tell. (wish they would have made it the same DLC though)

Edit: Definitely isn't though...saw a video with it being scratched by a mohs 5 pick.

Even the Apple case will abrade the SS band. .
Will it really? Whats the point of a case if the case is going to ruin a phone? Maybe Apple wants an easy way to discover wear and tear so they know how much to give people when they exchange their devices next year.

This goes for every case, you should constantly remove and clean the phone and case from debris.

That is a big dilemma for me. I did not get my X yet, but I am deciding how I will go about this.

I am thinking about a clear skin to wrap around it (actually sounds like a bad idea now that I typed it out), and a thin case for any rough activity (snowboarding, working out). I just have to be diligent about taking the case off often to clean any extra debris out.

I just exchanged my SS iPhone X yesterday for a Space Gray variant.

I had the SS one since launch day and it went from the box to an apple silicone case. The only exposed part was the bottom where apple feels it's a good idea to keep open...lol
Either way I used my phone as I normally would, was pretty carful plughing the lightning cable in until I picked up my wirelsss charger, and it went in and out of my pockets the whole week, granted I'm always in sweats or sports shorts or pants, rarely ever wear jeans so this phone didn't see the inside of jeans, just every day use for the last week and I saw no visible scratches at all. I took it out of the case a few times to just check it out and I noticed 2 very very small hairline snips one both sides, that most likely only a maniac like myself would really notice anyway. But to my surprise nothing on the bottom by the speaker or lightening port. All in all I'm pretty carful with all my phones!

To own the silver model you will need to put some extra tlc in if you want to keep it pristine, and if you're using an apple branded case there's a little more to it because of the exposure at the bottom, but going full caseless is just asking for scratches and I'm just not on board with using a cape cod cloth on this phone. I chimed in on a few threads as to why, and people are just in denial. That stuff gets in your speaker grill, or on your screen...lol the party ends right there and you will have a bigger headache than you started with..just my 2 cents for the silver.

For the space gray, well I just love the whole stealth look. Again it went from the belkin machine where a glass screen went on into a brand new midnight blue silicone case...And that's were it will call home...lol, unless I'm switching case colors or into an apple leather case. I love the bottom how it's all black. And yes if you jam a lightning cable in and out you will probably scratch it somehow, and if your not carful the same applies as it did for the silver. Honestly they are both prone to scratching if not taken care of, I just like the all black look a little better and do feel it may do a better job at hiding micro hairline scratches, we shall see down the line...but all in all these aren't caseless phones unless you really are one who doesn't mind your phone showing wear and tear...I'm just not that person, I like my stuff looking as good as it did on day one.
