I went from a 6s to an SE about a month ago. No complaints at all, gave the 6s to my son.

Since I upgraded my daughter to an SE, I have her old 5c to trade to TMo, so I went ahead and ordered a matte black 128GB 7. Too good a deal to pass, $350 for a 128GB 7 with the 5c trade.

I love the much better pocket friendliness of the SE. It'll be hard to stick a big phone in my pocket again, so the 7 might just sit here unused lol.

Back on topic. If it weren't for the TMo deal I'd have no interest in the 7 and be totally happy with the SE.

Happy SE owner here. I thought I might feel the pull of the 7, but I don't. It doesn't correct any of the fundamental issue I had with the 6 or 6s: the form factor. I use my iPhones caseless, and the bar-of-soap feel of the 6 body style just kills me. The camera bump is the least elegant thing I've ever seen on an apple product. And the bezels make already large phones hard to use one handed (especially since it needs a case due to the aforementioned slipperiness). I do also use my headphone jack quite a bit.

And the updates to the 7 are nice, but there's no killer feature. Waterproof? Haven't gotten an iphone wet in 9 years of ownership. Camera? Sure, great. But the SE camera is already great, so how much does it really matter. Same deal with the A10 vs the A9. Faster LTE? My carrier is the limiting factor. And so on.

A bigger screen in a body the size of the SE (that feels good in the hand, like the SE) is what I want. And wireless charging. I'll try again next year.

I went to the se for awhile and then went back to my 6s. Going to go to the 7 plus. What can I say I get bored easy.

Smug, because they have a headphone jack? :D

I'd bet they'd sell out of SE's if they introduced a model in matte black.

I actually don't use the headphone jack on mine at all. In fact I was thinking about upgrading my SE to have the same functionality as the 7. ;-)

I'm probably not your typical SE owner. Just bought mine after the keynote, previously had a 6.

I loved my 6, probably the best phone I've had. Had a beautiful screen, and I didn't even mind the size all that much (though let's face it the SE is the more pocketable one).

But, with the rumors of what's coming out next year, I couldn't justify spending big money on a 7, which at the end of the day isn't going to feel much different than my 6 (I realize it's a substantially better phone though). I typically keep phones 2 years, so this was my upgrade year, and going to a 7 didn't sit right knowing what's around the corner, knowing I am probably going to want to upgrade next year. I didn't really want to keep my 6 for another year either though, as I was getting the itch for a change. So I figured I could do an SE for a year, wax nostalgic about the form factor, and then next year get the 7S or 8 or whatever they call it. And it will be easy to justify having only paid $450 for this SE, and next year's iPhone will be an absolutely massive upgrade over the SE.

My only real gripe with the SE is the screen quality. Side by side with my 6, the colors are not nearly as saturated, and the whites are not nearly as white. By itself the SE looks great, but I know the quality just doesn't hold a candle to my 2 year old 6. Considering I'm a screen whore more than anything, and considering the 7 has a 25% brighter screen and wider color gamut than the 6S (which I can't remember if the 6S screen is also better than the 6?), I'm in for a real screen treat with next year's iPhone.

Although the 7 series models are shiny I chose instead to upgrade my 5s to an SE. I prefer the smaller size and wanted the option of Apple Pay along with a longer battery life.

All-being-well I'll have a watch before the end of the year and after that I'll probably upgrade the phone again once there's been a couple of OLED screen iterations.

Why are you assuming that everyone that using the SE downsized from 6\6+ or 6s\6s+? many people upgrade from 4\4s or replaced their "aging" 5\5s.

I was speaking in the context of the OP. If they weren't tempted by the 6/6+ series and opted for the SE instead, why would they be with the 7/7+?

Because rationality sometimes falls by the way side in consumer land / iOS land.

Not omitting myself from that claim either :p

I bought my 64gb SE back in July. Am I getting the itch? Yes I am a bit but not for the 7, In fact Apple performance on Wednesday has put me right off them, sneaking up UK prices and saying nothing then blaming brexit as an excuse for profiteering, I have the itch for Samsung or the new Nexus.

I must say that when i bought my SE i was worried i might want the next coming bigger iPhone...

But this year i have absolutely no reason why I should buy the 7.

It offers nothing i would need or want based on my daily habits of phone use.

And i would not buy a phone without a headphone jack. I dont like all the disadvantages of Bluetooth and i also do not have a single product that uses lightning port at home, also no airplay.

I use chromecast audio for music streaming, the best and cheapest solution for my needs. As of apple doesn't support this, apple music is something i will probably never use.

I might buy a new iPhone someday, but i think that will be earliest if my SE falls apart.
