Rather have it, and not need it, than need it, and not have it ;)

Wow, that was a great statement. No me, I am way ahead in the money and if the worst happens, I have the money to replace it. Especially because I did not waste all that money on insurance!:p

I wish I had $650 laying around when my phone is misplaced :D

It is hard to "misplace" ones phone when it stays on me all my waking hours and then sleeps on my dresser while I do the same.

When you say misplace, is this where you just lay it down somewhere and do not remember where? If it costs you $650 to replace it . . . .

Just saying:cool:

I meant misplaced by stolen included.

When your phone is not in the place it is intended to be :)

I don't see anything about it covering theft for Apple plus on their site either.
Reference was to what the OP was looking for (read the OP again) -- not AC. OP could have been worded better to ask "What do you recommend for me?" versus "What are you going to use?" but I guess the OP assumes that needs/wants are universal like a lot of others.

Except for the $170-$200 deductible per lost/stolen phone claim.
Deductible applies to damage as well.

It's not hard for me at all. Why do you have one's phone on you? Shouldn't you have yours on you? Watch those pronouns.

For damage, I am using my American Express to cover extended warranty stuff. For loss/theft, Amex covers the first 90 days and my paycheck covers the rest :(

Lol! If all else fails, complain about ones grammar. Yep you better get the insurance, some do need it.

Lol.

I could care less if you get insurance or not. This is a thread to see what types of insurance other people are going to buy. If your not buying insurance then I don't see the need to post.

I'm not writing a legal document, im writing a thread :D

Worth Ave. Group

I went with this company for my iPad3. I believe it's the best all around coverage for the money. A 2-year ip5/32 policy costs $160 with a $50 deductible.

If you bought your ip5 with a CC, probably a good idea to first check your coverage there. But, I think most only extend the OEM warranty and don't cover theft or breakage. YMMV.

My credit card provides a very basic warranty extension for one extra year. Also, there is 90 days of accidental damage coverage.

Looks good. Wish they would cover loss as well, then it would be worth it.

Simple. Take care of it and it costs me zero dollars. Don't be stupid, clumsy, lay it around, toss it around, forget it, lay it down, or whatever. Just be-careful with it, take care of it, and you don't need to waste any money on an "insurance" plan.

While I respect your decision to not purchase insurance, it's hardly considered a "waste" on a mobile device. You imply that any incident requiring insurance is solely on the user, which is an ignorant way to look at it. There are numerous ways that something can happen to your device through incidents that you aren't at fault for. It's like saying you don't need car insurance as long as you drive responsibly, ignoring the fact that you have little to no control over other people you're driving on the road with and the environment you're driving in.

+1 for Worth Ave Group. I take care of my things but accidents happen - like an ipad that slipped out of my hands Or a slip on the ice where one falls and lands on the pocket their iphone is located. Not that i know personally - ha ha

I like the peace of mind. They have been great so far.

Self insured for theft, warranty, etc. If I had bought extended warranties through the years I'd be out way more cash.

AFAIK Apple is still doing the $199 out of warranty replacement on damaged iPhones, yes?

If so, that's all the "insurance" I need. I'm genuinely not worried about loss or theft as my phone is almost always in one of three places: my pocket, my nightstand or my hand - pretty hard for it to get lost or stolen in those places (and the only pockets I've ever had an iPhone slip out of were pajama pants on my couch at home that I would never wear out of the house).
