Full upgrade :] I'm ready to pre-order
For the first time ever, I'm not.
My iPhone 4S is great, looks just like the new one does from five feet away, there's no reason to waste the money.
What a big win for us![]()
aren't you required to keep a data plan on it for the life of the line?
so if my calculations are correct, you're payin' the minimum $120/yr for an additional line you're not using other than the use of the line to acquire another phone at contract pricing?
Quick question: I'm on Verizon and will most likely just pay full retail for the iPhone 5 to keep my unlimited data. Question is, how will I be able to preorder it at full retail? Through apple, or do I have to wait til Verizon opens up preorders?
Let me clarify. First off I don't care what anyone else thinks about the phone I use.I can spot the difference between any iPhone (case-less) from 5 feet away.
But then again... why do you care if people think you have the new one from 5 feet away? So you would only drop money if the new one looked so different that people could tell it was the new one?
Not to gravedig or anything but now that the iPhone 5 was announced today, I thought I'd ask...how exactly do you know if you're eligible for an upgrade? I bought my iPhone 4 the day it came out, so it's been just over two years. Would I qualify?

Is the sim card the same as the one used for the 4S or have they changed that? If it is the same I will probably sell my 4S and pay the remainder and transfer my contract sim card.
Well, it looks like I'm eligible!

But what exactly does eligibility entail? How much of a discount is it? When I went to the next page it didn't have anything for the 5, only current models.
On second thought, it might not be making a difference in price at all...isn't this the standard? What the heck?

If you weren't eligible, all of those prices would be $450 higher.
So the cheapest iPhone 5 would be $649...? Why is that the case? Where is the extra $450 coming from?
