For the first time ever, I'm not.

My iPhone 4S is great, looks just like the new one does from five feet away, there's no reason to waste the money.

What a big win for us :)

From the front, they all look alike. Interesting how it took you 5 generations (and the first time they've actually changed the dimensions of it) to realize that.

I'm waiting until January when I am upgrade eligible. Now I just have to decide whether to buy it subsidized or pay full price to keep my unlimited data (Verizon). At some point between now and then I'll check and see how much data I actually use.

I'm buying it from Best Buy. I'm using $40 reward zone gift cert. and $20 gift card towards the purchase of the 64 GB Verizon. I'm financing it (18 mo./0% int) and intend to pay it off in 4-6 mo. I did this with my 4S and it worked very well.. It never hurts to use the iPhone to increase your credit score :)

Its still up in the air. It was going to be early upgrade or full price but now im thinking about adding a line because I like the idea of having an upgrade every year between the 2 lines and that alone is worth the $10 extra a month.

how is it only an extra $10/mo? don't you have to pay for a plan for the 2nd line per month?

i ask cuz' i'm on a single plan and always wondered about adding a 2nd line.

thanks.

Rewardzone Premier Silver and you get the option of banking all of your points so basically I've been hoarding my points until I wanted something such as the iPhone :)

I'm also Premier Silver but never paid any attention to the terms. Had NO idea I could bank points!

Full price so I can keep my current plan (which just so happens to include unlimited data ;)).

Its like the Olympics...I have set up a laptop, IPad, iPhone and an iPod Touch. All have either the Apple Store or the Apple Store App up and running. Been practicing the order sequence to make certain I will be able to order on pre-order day.
Hope this plan works and that my fingers will be quick enough to score a new iphone....
Going for the gold.

I'm not eligible for a subsidy from Big Red until 2013, so I plan on paying full price. Between selling my old iPhone 4 and my Razr Maxx, I should have enough to cover the full price with very little (if any) out of pocket. I do plan on waiting for a couple of months after launch to jump in, though. I figure there will be more cases & accessories and updated apps for the new screen dimensions if I wait a while. We'll see if I can hold out.

Haven't decided if I'll give up my perfect White 4S that I just got 2 weeks ago or not, but if I do I will either pay AT&T the full retail price or do an upgrade with them for the first time.

When your on a family plan it's only $9.99 per line texting is included with a family text plan and I won't keep the data plan.

How on earth do you have that much in recent, unexpired Reward Zone coupons?

I can't speak for them but I bought the rMBP with rewards silver status (1.25x points), triple points coupon, and 4% cash back from the credit card and I got like $200 just from this. Also got a $100 gift card to match the App Store gift card from Apple.

Needless to say, I'll also be getting my iPhone at Best Buy. Not sure which carrier ill go with. AT&T has been pretty good though and I'm paying $115/mo. for two people (3gb each, 450 mins/mo., unlimited texting).

Planning to get it from Best Buy since I registered my number for a $50 mobile purchase discount (or gift card not sure) early this year. Also will get reward zone points.

And I will be getting it with my AMEX for extended warranty...and purchase protection.

Hate that I can't preorder via Apple thinking that they will be more reliable when accepting preorder IMO.

Does Best Buy also offer preorders or is it first come first serve on launch day?

Hopefully going to preorde/reserve it, and pick it up at my local Apple store on launch day! :apple:

Plan on pre-ordering from apple.com and keeping the apple store app ready for backup. My girlfriend wanted me to reserve it so we could wait in line at our local apple store, but I don't feel like doing that again.

aren't you required to keep a data plan on it for the life of the line?

so if my calculations are correct, you're payin' the minimum $120/yr for an additional line you're not using other than the use of the line to acquire another phone at contract pricing?

I'm not going to purchase the iPhone 5. I'm going to make a genius bar appointment for help with my iPad. I don't own an iPad. I'll seduce the genius and we'll have hot passionate sex on the floor of the store after closing. The next day I'll meet the genius for lunch and blackmail the genius into stealing an iPhone for me. The genius will hand deliver it to my door. I'll slap the genius in the face and take my shiny new 64GB white iPhone. Voila. Free iPhone. If that doesn't work then I'll probably go to Best Buy.

Well. I live in the UK and I'm hoping I can pre-order it as soon as it's available for pre-order on the website and then go and pick it up in my local Apple Store. Will this actually work?!?

Quick question: I'm on Verizon and will most likely just pay full retail for the iPhone 5 to keep my unlimited data. Question is, how will I be able to preorder it at full retail? Through apple, or do I have to wait til Verizon opens up preorders?
