I work, go out with my friends, play video games, watch movies, smoke, smoke, hang out with my friends, play some frisbee...It's a phone, it's not going to change your life.

Actually, it kinda did change my life back when I had the iPhone on AT&T. Just made things a whole lot easier; being able to open an app and find a nearby restaraunt and view the menu and reviews (Urbanspoon), find a nearby movie theater and see which movies are playing and at what time (Flixster), search and listen to any song I want to hear at any given time (InTune Radio), and so many more apps I can't remember. And now, with the confirmation of the unlimited plan only opens the door wider. Very excited about this.

Wasting the day

I am new to MacRumors. I will be pre-ordering my Iphone on the 3rd and can't wait for next week. I have been keeping busy finding out all the lastest news on the Iphone and reading up everything about them. I have been a BB user for the last 2 years and I am ready to make the switch.

Does anyone think that verizon will remove the unlimited plan by the time the iphone 5 comes out?

Nobody knows what the iPhone 5 plans will be. It's all speculation at this point. The main reason I'm jumping early on the iPhone 4 is that its a great phone and my unlimited data plan is guaranteed for the next 2 years. I don't really think 4G is worth all the hype to wait around for.

Can't Wait

Yet, here you are...
I've been using Apple products since 1994, and I doubt many here would have been caught dead with a PowerBook back in 2004. Just food for thought.

A majority of the new members here join only for the iPhone discussion. Sure I'm excited to get an iPhone finally, but some people here make it seem like it's the most earth shattering event in their life.

And this makes you special in exactly which way again? Shall we have a pissing contest over who has used Macs the longest? Please let's not.

Simply put, since you are quite the self-imposed "Mac/Apple/Forum Elite", and this has NO bearing on your life, then butt the F&*k out. Unless of course, you are merely trying to convince yourself of your own assertations. Which does make perfect sense as your petty little comments are not convincing anyone else.

I wont be getting one at the release day but probably by the end of March I will be getting a smartphone. I was going to check out the HTC Thunderbolt but it supports 4G/LTE and I read something about a new plan and more $$$ because you can use 4G/LTE in the 10 cities that have it  If that turns out to be true I will definitely be grabbing an iPhone 4 because the iPhone 4 does not support the 4G/LTE yet correct?

Ever since they announced it on Jan. 11th, I just haven't been able to calm myself about the fact that the iPhone will soon be on Verizon. I have tried everything to preoccupy myself while counting down the days until the release. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I can't stop thinking about it. How are you managing while you await the release on Feb. 10th?

When I first read your post the first thing I thought of was that episode of South Park ("Go God Go") when Cartman can't wait for the Wii so he freezes himself and then wakes up 500 years too late.

So... don't do that.

until the jan 11th announcement all i was reading were articles that talked about the fact that the verizon iphone was imminent, and i could barely contain myself. post-announcement i have just been chatting with fellow apple lovers in the forums to pass the time. ive been waiting years for this, as have many others, so anyone who feels the need to belittle our excitement for this new iphone can screw off and go play with their blackberry bold

Im not switching to Verizon and im not even using an iPhone right now.

Wait till the hard core AT&T haters experience Verizon.

I'm going to get a lot of laughs from that situation.

They're going to get hit by the slap of reality. Oh boy!

+1. I'd say anyone on this site is probably at least a little obsessed...

I agree :)

I figure anyone on the forums like Macrumors or Xda has a serious interest in cell phones. I know I sure do and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Some guys like cars as a hobby... I like smartphones :)

I'm actually going to monitor this intensely as well. My roommate has a Droid so I always make sure he is doing speedtest's and how fast Verizons 3g is able to download. I will def need to see what the reviews here have to say since I value your guy's opinions alot.

Oh my god! It seems like the closer we get to the release the farther away it still really is! Pre-order is still 7 days away and the rest is still 2 weeks away. I'm getting very impatient.
