Man I wish Kids in the Hall was still on. This thread would be a great comedy sketch.

Serious answers only please. I tried to download a leveler app but it was almost perfect only .3 off so not sure what else to do.

While I agree with most (read: all) others who've posted here that the whole premise of this thread is ridiculous, this quote above, in my opinion, takes the cake. I'll get to it then:

You downloaded a leveler app to see if your iPhone (aka your level!) was bent? It was "almost perfect only .3 off"?? Do you realize what you're saying!?!

If I download a leveler app right now and put my iPhone down on a non-level surface, does that mean my iPhone is suddenly bent?

Boy: Do not try and bend the iPhone. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Boy: There is no iPhone.
Neo: There is no iPhone?
Boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the iPhone that bends, it is only yourself.
Seriously though, if you really believed that your leveler app would be able to tell you whether or not your iPhone was bent and if the level was "almost" perfect but not quite, shouldn't you then have believed, albeit completely erroneously, that your iPhone was indeed bent?

If you're being serious, place it on a flat surface and push on the top left corner of the phone. If it feels like the weight is shifting or the bottom of the phone lifts up and looks noticeable then it is probably bent.

You expect someone to think for themselves and critically think a situation? Come on, this is Mac Rumors where any question is safe to be asked. What color phone should I buy? Ask MR. What size should I buy? Ask MR. What case should I buy? Ask MR. Should I return my phone for another color, size? Ask MR.

See the pattern? Many members here can't make ANY life decision without asking the folks here on MR. Sad but that's the way it is.

Haha this is very true. This is how I view younger generations using the internet: Those of us in our mid-20's and up all remember when we had to use books and learn for ourselves, and think critically. The internet could then be used to SUPPLEMENT our knowledge, aka fill in the little gaps of information we needed in the same way that an encyclopedia does on a subject (you kids know what an encyclopedia is?). The younger generations, nowadays, are skipping the first step and using the internet to completely replace thinking.

well who raised this generation? Oh right.

I think there's a lot of truth to that but I'd add that, as much as I use -- and enjoy using -- my iPhone, I think smartphones in general are making this whole sort of devolution in critical thinking much worse (i.e. can't blame the internet alone).

I used to spend hours daily just thinking (I've never been much of a TV person). Hours thinking about anything and everything. Now, when I have a "free" moment, I whip out the old iPhone and [insert anything and everything], all pretty much without thinking.

For example, I read a lot of news on my phone but once I'm done reading a particularly good or well thought through article, do I stop and think about it? Most likely no, I just move on to the next article or the next square-with-rounded-corners that I can tap on.

I really like my fancy Apple smartphone (had iPhones dating back to the original) but sometimes I have to stop myself from taking it out of my pocket and realize it'd be good for me to just stop and think for a bit.

Looking at his other threads makes me think he's kind of OCD..

Camera is shooting the best it can?
Is the iPhone 5 retina display as sharp as the iPhone 4?
What can I do to speed up my iPhone 5 like new again?
Does the iPhone 5 not require any maintenance like cleaning Safari cache etc?
How do I get rid of dust on my iPhone 5 screen?

What did we expect from the person who brought us these classic threads:

How do I get rid of my moms number in iMessage?

Can I pay $229 and get a new iPhone 5 if I shatter this one

Is it OK to keep your old iPhone 4 or should I sell it?

And as an added bonus, who can forget this chart topper?!

Got a MEAN look from the APPLE guy

LMAO:D
This thread is great.

I really want to thank the OP for this thread and everybody who contributed. I was having a bad day at work and this really turned my whole day around. The leveler app was by far the funniest thing I have ever read on any forum!
Thanks
