@Msbeezy — considering hdmi grabber, you had to know that hdmi signal is encrypted and for example Blackmagic device could not let you record any encrypted input. You can foul this around by using a cheap Chinese hdmi splitter between your Cable box and grabber. But, (1) you should check first if given splitter will do such a trick of not-encrypting its output and (2) you didn’t hear this advice from me. Or, use grabber with RCA or any analogue input.
Any recommendation for a good 4k grabber ?...i see most are sold as USB3.0 out,...no USB C (TB4) ? (not needed/better? )Yeah, you’re correct, @Msbeezy — Mac HDMI is out only port so the cable route should go rather the way described below:
1. Cable box / HDMI out
2. Splitter / HDMI out
3. Grabber / USB or Thunderbolt out
4. Mac / USB or Thunderbolt in
