What would telling information give them anyways? Fame? Not really...

Exactly. Knowing something that only a handful of other people know gives you an elite sense of superiority. Who would want to do away with that while risking their employment in the process?

Only things that leak out is what APPLE wants you to know. Either this IPHONE5 is going to be a mega surprise or a bust. there are no in betweens.

Cmon guys... This iPhone delay is making people bonkers. Top secret projects are exactly that...TOP SECRET. That means we don't know anything about them. Leaks do happen from time to time, but considering the amount of top secret projects going on around us everyday, I'd say the "leak" rate is less then 1/10th of a percent. If not less. The reason we say "well someone had to tell their wife, or someone had to snap a picture, draw a sketch, or stuff a LCD down their pants when the buzzer rings at the end of a shift" is the same reason we will NEVER be involved in anything top secret. I'd be willing to bet that the measures taken by Apple to keep iphone 5 under wraps is on par with some of our most sensitive military projects being developed. why? Because their are billions of dollars involved. They take this **** seriously. I don't have a clue how they do it, and im not going to even try to speculate. It's just so much bigger then we can even imagine. To the point where if someone from Apple tried to walk out of work with an iPhone 5 in their briefcase, and got caught, that person and their entire family might just disappear off the face of the earth and not a trace of them would be left to say that they ever existed...Ok, maybe I'm stretching things a bit here, but I do bet there would be some serious (if not shady) repercussions other then just losing their job. Apple is powerful beyond our comprehension. And im sure there are some pretty nasty mf'rs behind that cute little apple logo that employ some not so friendly ethics and morals. And when their are billions of dollars on the line...and in the bank, you can bet that whatever they do to keep things a mystery, they do it right and tight.

Amen to that one. And just to ease everyone's mind, it's gonna be a mega surprise. No bust on this go around. Apples not that stupid.

I believe the iPhone 5 is going to look pretty much the same as the iPhone 4, which is why we haven't seen any leaks of a new design (other than the case wider/thinner case designs which I believe are being created by case designers jumping the gun based on rumours). I may get downvoted for this, but I'm just stating my opinion, not what I actually want to see (which is a new design and larger screen).

There are a ton of people saying this, so ur not alone, but it just doesnt make any sense at all for apple to do this. Apple is a very innovative and smart. Launching another iPhone 4 would be a stupid, crippling mistake that Apple can't afford to make at this point. Not only will it be a new design, it will be the biggest re-design on iPhone since the original. I'm positive. I'll be happy to eat all my words from the many posts I put it there on the same subject of I am wrong. But I'm telling u, I am not wrong.

Exactly. If you want to know what the iPhone 5 is going to look like or get a good idea the leaked cases from overseas is probably accurate. Judging from former case leaks, they have always been spot on from the original iPhone until now. Even the iPad 2 was accurate. Mostly.

It's not about stupidity, it's about arrogance and how much or how little they think of their customers. If they shlepp us a rehashed iPhone 4 after 14/15 months, we'll know how little.

Bottom line is they like money...And lots of it. And a refreshed iPhone 4 wasn't even a possibility when Apple sat down to talk about iPhone 5. It was never even an option. They had plans for a total redesign when we were still on our honeymoon with iPhone 4.

That's a pretty brutal accusation given what happened with enron. I work for a large company, and ethics and values are constantly preached in every aspect of what we do. I'm sure apple is no different. Given their propensity to sue anyone for just about anything that would encroach on their intellectual property, I'd say Apple has good reason to stay legit.

even once the iPhone hits the line, it is still difficult for images to leak because it is manufactured by very poor people in china who may or may not even have computers, let alone internet access (or a camera for that matter), and even if they did the internet is highly restricted in china

i think you've just been spoiled by last years leak...there's been leaks for all their products recently, but it has been a part here, a front or back panel there, etc. Never has the entire product been leaked from the production line (remember, we got no indication about the appearance of the iPhone 4 from the assembly line last year)

they don't own their production facilities, they manufacture the iPhone at foxconn...a company that does work for all sorts of tech companies, but has been accused of poor treatment of their employees. With wages raising in china, the last thing foxconn wants is a final convincing reason for apple to (slowly, of course) start taking their business elsewhere, so they could be very harsh with their employees. And again, its china, so how would anyone ever really find out? Even with all the accusations ongoing against foxconn, nothings really been proven yet
